Just a quick question because I was a bit curious--how did all of you find out about this group? Did you search for it, have a friend invite you to join, etc.? And once you checked it out, what made you want to stay? (:

For me, I had just friended Irene and I knew that one of the best ways to find cool groups is to see where your friends are, so I came on over. :) I think one of the reasons I liked the group was because we're pretty active and I felt like I could get a lot of help here. Also, I thought all of the tips and suggestions were really helpful. :)

I found this group by searching for groups on Goodreads and typing "writers" in the search bar. I chose to join this group because I thought it had a lot of the things I was looking for, such as lots of feedback, critique, support, tips, and advice. Also because I thought it would be good to be in a group that would support me as I "struggled" through writing books. So far being a member in this group, I have already learned many things that has definitely helped with my writing. And the friendly people that I have met here have given me motivation and inspiration for writing books.
I'm afraid that I have rambled on a bit too long, so, sorry. Anyway, I am very happy that I joined this group.
I was struggling and I was trying to write so I thought, "Wey hey, let's see if there are any 'struggling writers'." So I typed it in and wadda-bing-badda-boom this group came up XD
I escaped from another group, who's language I found distasteful. I'm not struggling with writing, I never have been but prefer to be in the company of people, who like me, are interested in writing, and helping people get the most from their writing.
Found this group because Frenchie recommended it to me. I'm a struggling writer in the sense that sales are basically non-existent. Hopefully, when I have free time, I'll be able to take part in conversations and look at people's writing. (I guess I do also struggle when it comes to writing stories I'm happy with.)

I love coming into the group and getting to meet all of you new guys and seeing what made you stick around and stay. We moderators here love you all so much and you keep the group thriving. :)

And you also have over fifteen hundred Struggling Writers who would be more than happy to help you out along the way :)
No, there's lots of us, all ready and willing to help, as, and where we can. If we don't know the answer we usually know a friend of a friend who does, David. Though Cassie,my leading lady from my fourth novel is tugging at my sleeve telling me it's time I put Chase out of his misery, got him up on stage, and out of his clothes! I got invited and I only joined today so I can't say why I will be staying, but I joined because it seemed like this group could be interesting.
Like Jennifer, I just joined today after receiving an invite. It seemed like a fun and friendly bunch. :)
David wrote: "Wasn't aware the group had that many members. :) Thought it'd be about a hundred or so."Nope, we have well over fifteen hundred :) (Pretty cool, right?)
Jennifer wrote: "I got invited and I only joined today so I can't say why I will be staying, but I joined because it seemed like this group could be interesting."Haha we are pretty interesting, in a crazy-writers-on-a-mission kind of way. Kind of like NaNoWriMo :)
G.G. wrote: "Like Jennifer, I just joined today after receiving an invite. It seemed like a fun and friendly bunch. :)"Aw, well hopefully you like us enough to say!
I joined this group because Alexander Tomov invited me to do so, and now I am here, I am glad I did.
Ingrid wrote: "Well over 1600 to be accurate:)"Correction: Proud to report, three days after you corrected my post, that we're now up to SEVENTEEN HUNDRED MEMBERS. You guys rock.

It was so long ago that i cannot exactly remember whether i was sent an invite or that through browsing 'writing groups' that i found this one, but what i do know is that i am forever pleased that i did! What caught my interest was how Goodreads members were all interacting and discussing writing {techniques, editing, publishing etc.} and as a budding author who wanted to start writing my first novel at the time i thought this was ideal. Not only is this group a source of knowledge and ideas, where i can practise writing and ask questions but it is also a place of fun and where one can simply just 'chat' about books...or anything literary really :)
