Hey guys... I've been watching movies that are like totally different from the book... aaannndd it gets so annoying when the book is phenomenal and the movie just goes rolling down the hill into a lake of radioactive acid infested by radioactive crocodiles and then youre just sitting there like... What happened to the main story line???? and i thought that maybe it woupd be a good idea to you know... huddle around and share the feeling... maybe sympathize if you can or empathize it all helps.. its just that a little part of me dies when the movie is completely different from the bool :( its soo saddening... Wheres the Love????

What movies have you seen that you think were horrible compared to the book. The only other ones I have were Beautiful Creatures and The Moral Instruments. I liked Beautiful Creatures, though the ending was NOTHING like that book and I think that killed it for me... But TMI was three levels of horrendous compared to the books.
For Me it was Harry potter IT WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!! AND THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS!!!! All them puns and smart comments werw just like *poof* cometely dissappeared and the ENDING IT WAS AT THE WRONG PLACE... HOW DID THAT HAPPEN *sigh* The days just keep on getting worse. :(

Uh huh! Valentine looked NOTHING LIKE THE BOOK! I wanted to see Myers regal and crazy like he was in Tudors... Not with a dreadlock/braid and crazy eyes! Luke was barely in it.. WTF happened to the wolf pack? All of 5 seconds if airtime? Way to add in bits of book 2... then NOTHING... Horrible... Absolutely horrible.
WHAT ABOUT THE DEMON BIKE FLYING PART :( Im like ohh man this is gonna be good...but NOPE lets not put that cool part in. it was horrendoes i have to agree.

They stuffed it at the end.. and we never saw it fly... I am a huge fan of Jamie Campbell Bower... and he has the look... but he did not have the sarcasm... :( Very sad.
Well, you know they have been doing this for years. I once sat down to watch Beastmaster, which was a wonderful Andre Norton SF book. Um only the title had not been changed. Really. The late Tom Clancy was asked how he felt about all the changes to his books when movies were made of them. His reply? "I smile all the way to the bank." If you can bring yourself to consider the movie completely different from the book and not do the comparisons, that only ruin the experience for you that can help. Sometimes though... My daughter and i nearly got thrown out of Troy. Both big mythology fans. No, they did not... He does not die there! That is not his Achilles heel!You get the idea.

I did that in AL:VH... People started throwing stuff at me... Got me a lot of free popcorn and junior mints... but no soda :( Seriously, though.. How hard is it to keep to the story.. There is a reason the book is a bestseller.... It was fine the way it was. Leave it be! Am I right?

I'm still upset about Edward from Twilight. They kept the story line, but the actor they chose was so SO far from the way I pictured him that it all became a big joke to go see the movies.People kept shushing me because I couldn't stop laughing every time he took his shirt off. After seeing Jacob shirtless it was just sad.
And don't get me started on the True Blood butchery...

LOL! Sorry, that was hilarious... His chest was creepy looking! Then you had Jacob and I seriously thought Bella was mentally deviated to pick Edward... over Jacob... Just on looks... But personality was a major thing too... Jacob was way better... Just in general
First, I want to say that I've never read Twilight. When I saw the movie, the part where Bella is sitting at a table with her new friends and they exclaim something about Edward being the most handsome guy in the school (or whatever word they used) I anticipated something mouth watering, or at least something handsome, certainly not 'that thing'. It lost me right there. :(Bella must really have a low esteem of herself to choose the 'thing' over Jacob.
City of Bones was pretty bad. It barely seemed like the book I had read and loved.Harry Potter wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't horrible. As a movie series loosely based off the books I still enjoyed it.
World War z. I have no idea which section of the book they tried to recreate, but it was bad. Sooooo different from the book.
The Spiderman movies.
I prefer the Tobey Mcguire ones truthfully, but even they were pretty bad. The new ones? Worse.
The one that's coming out this year looks horrible, I can't believe they would change the villians so much.
I've heard some pretty bad things about Enders Game, though i have yet to read or see that yet.
And I'm really hoping The Book Thief is done well.

He is from the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning (or is it Monning?). So freaking hot. I mean crazy sexy panty dropping hot. If you haven't read that series you need to DROP EVERYTHING and start it. LOL.

One movie I just couldn't get over the re-write was Lost World (Jurassic Park 2), it wasn't even close to the book, at all. And the movie was really bad for me. Lost World the book had me scared to my toes and on the edge of my seat reading whereas the movie just irritated me.

I'm lucky. I saw Eragon, the movie, before I read the book so I liked both.
I agree with so many of you. Of course, there are ones I haven't watched because I am afraid to as well. I just don't understand why they divert from a story that is already proven to be popular?

So, I watched Beautiful Creatures this weekend. I'm seldom speechless and try to find something positive about the movie so here is what was positive: It ended! OMG! the acting was horrible, it was just well...awful. Now I'm a huge Viola Davis fan and I did enjoy the artwork on her and her four lines in the whole movie but other than that it was just awful!

I am reading the Divergent series right now and can't put it down. The movies comes out March 21st and I can't wait to see it. I wasn't going f to read this series at all but after seeing the trailer for the movie I picked it right and And haven't stopped.

LOL! How dare you! I love Maleficent. She is my favorite and Ursala is a close second. I have loved her forever and I have always been a pro-evil advocate.
the 3rd book in the divergent series is not so good. it just becomes so different for me that was the worst book in the series. chaeacters doing stuff theyre not meant to like you know the character and they do something you dont expect from them. it sonds weird now coz i dont wanna put any spoilers here so after you read theseries i might be able to explain myself properly.
Oh and if you guys are looking for a good read that inudes fantasy magic and a little bit of dragons check out Magician:apprentice by feist.

I still have watched it, but it has gone so far from the books it's nothing alike save some characters. Personalities, etc, everything else is completely different so I just pretend it's not based on the books. However, season 5 bored me so much I stopped watching.
