Don´t worry I felt exactly the same I didn´t really know what was going on for about the first third of the book but eventually I ended uo loving it and the sequel is even better.

Cinder starts of slow and is rather predictable, HOWEVER, I can say with all honesty that this is the book that saved me from deciding that maybe YA was doomed. Cinder was awesome-Adorable romance that went right, CRAZY freaking villainess-yes a girl is the villain! :D-a swoon worthy male love interest, intense plot, badass heroine, smart plot, etc.
I was skeptical at first but I can say that this has become one of my most favorite series. If you don't like Cinder as much as I am gushing about it give the next one a try because it was EVEN BETTER than Cinder. I cannot recommend these enough to you!
Also, I have heard good things about Legend but I have not read that yet.

I totally agree though I haven't read Legend but this year I promise :>

Hush Hush wasn't very good... i l\only read it because my friend recommended it q:

I completely agree!!! I loved Cinder and Scarlet (I read them both in the same day) and while I enjoyed Legend, I didn't like Hush-Hush that much. Nora wasn't a very strong female character (at least, not like Cinder or June) and the plot wasn't as good.

Same here, I couldn't believe it when the story didn't end there. Can't wait for Winter but I'm so frustrated at the same time.

Well I for one have not read Hush Hush, so I can't say much about it. But these dystopian themed books seem to build off of each other. I've read Cinder, but gave up, (I should give it another go), and I do believe that Cinder has some element of Legend in it. Slightly.
The Plague knocking on everyone's door step, everyone trying to survive off of what they can. It all seems VERY familiar. So I couldn't help but think, huh, it would be interesting to see something, that even though the books are set in different places, Legend in America and Cinder in Europe, it would intrigue me to see a collaboration, to make a worldly novel.
But that wouldn't happen because, again, even if they still share some elements, some of them are way off key.
Cinder tunneled more to science fiction when Legend snuggled into post-war.
Also another thing I was considering. I hate when authors decide that they're going to make a 'badass' character, with absolutely NO problems! They're not puppets that you get to toy around with. They have feelings in their own way. I also like what you said about Hush Hush. Even though I haven't read it, it's a ton of bull that authors decide that they can make people drop their act in order to fall for some guy or girl. It's stupid.

At first it was kind of hard for me to follow but around page 48, everything just kind of clicked and i realised what was happening in the book and could not put it down! TBH i am 13 and I had a bit of trouble with all the mechanical and advanced technology talk but after a while of reading the book i finally knew and folowed what all of it was. PS another AMAZING book series is The Unwanteds..that series was my favorite until The Lunar Chronicles came along.
