Please feel free to ask any and all questions about my new novel Death Raise, the writing process and marketing ideas.

Carla JFCL (stellamaz) Who is your favorite character in "Death Raise" and why?

This is a tough question as I have spent a great deal of time developing and discovering all of them. I would have to go with Shen, simply based on the fact that he is the only character in the novel that I based on a real person. Shen's real-life counterpart is a close friend of mine for years. His English is very hard to understand and often times makes no sense at all. One time he was asking me to have a look at the "Signal light" on his car but he says this as "Sig a rall light" so I in tern thought he was referring to the cigarette lighter in the car and it took quite some time and an almost Abbot & Costello type routine until we hashed it out. I tried to capture his dialogue as best as I could and hope he comes across as I intended.

Carla JFCL (stellamaz) I think you succeeded; Shen's dialogue is one of my favorite things about the book. I enjoyed "hearing" him speak, and a couple of things he said had me laughing out loud.
