The chapter finished with her being hit in the back of the head with an axe, just after we found out that her brother and mother were killed. If they put this bit with the other chapter we would have found everything out in the wrong order. After the other two deaths, all I could think was Nooooo not Arya too, so had a peek at upcoming chapter names, and saw Arya again, so don't think she's dead yet.

133) Sounded like Edmure is alive, but Riverun will be taken away or did I get that wrong? Poor Tyrion. If Sansa didn't hate him before she might now.
I think Edmure is being kept captive - probably to get his new wife with child.

134) Interesting to find Tywin is drugging Joffrey. Anyone else surprised?
The red woman has cursed Joffrey to die, so I don't expect him to be around for too long. I wonder if he will just get milk of the poppy to calm down, or if he will be poisoned. I don't think Tyrion can murder him, that wouldn't be tollerated by Cersei.

135) More information about the fall of the Targaryens. What do you make of it?
Sounds like Tywin had been ruling the land and is trying to get control back. As the Hand, he will step in if anything happens to Joffrey, and he doesn't seem to really like Joffrey either.

The next Dany chapter is too far away!
I thought Jorah was going to be the one who betrayed her for love, but maybe he is the one who betrayed her for gold. Don't know what she should do though. Glad I'm not a Queen.

150. Is anyone else surprised that Tyrion keeps taking the risk of seeing Shae? Does Sansa have a clue at all about her?
I don't think Sansa Knows yet. Shae is the only person that makes Tyrion feel good about himself and accepts him for who he is, I don't blame him for wanting to spend time with someone like that (let alone the only lovin' he's getting)

151. Joffrey is such a little sh-t. He behaves like a 2-year old. I was amazed that Tyrion held is tongue while Joffrey offended Sansa and sliced the rare book. Interesting that Tyrion said Viserys should have been included in Kaeth’s book. Viserys had poisoned his nephew Baelor to save the realm. Seems like Tyrion wants to do the same.
Once Joffrey's marrind and has an heir, I don't think he will be around long. Tyrion suggested a dagger as a present because Joffrey made such a big deal about being familiar with Valerian Steel, He then asked Sansa about how Joffrey was with Bran. I think Tyrion thinks that Joffrey sent the assassin to kill Bran, he might be right.

Since I never saw the shows, I can say that this is the first we have heard about it. I am glad I am not Dany because I would be sooooo confused.

Wow! on of the smallest sections of 4 chapters we've read thus far, but it packed a punch.

125) Poor Jon. Finds out about the false reports about Bran and Rickon and finds out what happened to Mormont. Plus, the wall is almost deserted. I'm a little worried that the wall will be overtaken while Jon is out of it. Were you surprised to find some of the brothers had returned and told the story of what happened?
I wondered if the Brothers would have basically disbanded without firm leadership.

126) Jon's confession about Ygritte shows how he feels guilty about what happened. Think a Jon junior will result from their relationship?
That would certainly put a wrench in things!

127) I can't believe, well yes I can, what happened to Robb and Catelyn. Got an uneasy feeling when Frey made the speech about not forgetting things.
I got worried about the constant mention of really loud music after they had the men at arms stay out of the castle. But, I really thought he was going to take them hostage and sell them to the Lannisters. Never thought they would actually kill them off.

128) What do you think happened to Edmure? If he's not dead how will he react to finding his sister and nephew murdered?
I suspect he knew right away. I would also say he was a hostage, but with them killing Robb, not sure they are looking for hostages.

I thought they just wanted to mock her. Yowsa!

130) Poor Arya. Once again she can't get a break. What do you think will happen to her?
She will travel toward home the rest of her life – or at least through the life of this book. Sheesh.

I was surprised that Jorah was conspiring with Varys, but can understand why he would be vulnerable to it. I think she reacted to these revelations light a young girl in feeling the sting of betrayal, regardless of their proving to be allies otherwise. I think once she calms down, she will think more like the queen she is becoming and realize they are still of use. But, it certainly does take away another blanket of security.

I don’t think Sansa knows, but I can’t believe Tyrion is still seeing her. I just think she is trouble.

Especially after she kept asking to be elevated. I think she was always hoping to be his wife, so she certainly won't just leave him alone. I have also started to worry that she is working for someone else that has promised to raise her status in some way, because she seems to still think it will happen in the face of Tyrion clearly not doing anything like that for her.

I find it interesting that he does not respect Joffrey. I don't think he has much honor to his name, but he expects Joffrey to rule wisely. Instead, Joffrey reminds me more of Tywin, albeit not as smart - or perhaps just younger.

Yes.

Tyrion’s has been unappreciated for his role in the victory of the Battle of the Blackwater, despises by the inhabitants of Kings’ Landing, given a wife who doesn’t want him, been made the butt of jests of at court, and now accused of a crime he didn’t commit. He’s not having much luck lately. How do you think his trial will go?
I think he might be found guilty and killed. I'll be sad for him though.

154. King Joffrey is dead! **Lisa Kay does happy dance.** Did you think at first he was really dying? Or just chocking? We know Tyrion didn’t do it; so, who did? Cersei must really hate Tyrion to accuse him of regicide and kinslaying. Or do you think she really believes Tyrion did kill her son?
I think she believes he was involved. He didn't repect him. He was there and served him the wine when he died. An autopsy proved he didn't choke. I don't think he will make it through this one.

Though we know that Ser Dontos actually killed him as the distraction to get Sansa out. The poison was hidden in her hair net, that he told her to wear to the wedding because it was magic. He took it from Sansa's hair and put it in the wedding goblet. Ser Dontos was acting on Littlefingers direction, so he was really behind it.

155. Sansa finally ran off with “Ser” Dontos, only to be betrayed. Was Littlefinger’s interaction with Sansa a little creepy, or what? All I can say is out of the frying pan and into the fire. True?
Littlefinger was the one who got Sansa out, but foe his own purposes. Joffrey dying wasn't his main purpose, getting Sansa and being Lord of Harrenhal was. I think he might try to wed Sansa himself.

156. We are given several answers, but more questions too. It was cruel of Littlefinger to set up the jousting dwarfs. Did he plan it all? Even the misdirect of Tyrion as scapegoat for Joffrey’s murder?
Yes. I think Littlefinger is a very clever man and will be one to watch in this game of thrones. I think he means to have the throne himself.

157. Cersei wouldn’t let Jaime hold his son when he was born? She continues to be the omnipotent b!tch, IMO. What did you think of Jaime’s reaction to hearing of his son’s death?M
He was the biological father but didn't raise Joffrey, so was a bit detatched. Cersei has the control in this relationship.

158. Again Jaime intervenes for Brienne, saving her from Ser Loras Tyrell’s wrath. How will her trial go? Will there even be one? I mean, she supposedly killed a traitor, right?
I don't know how things will go for Brienne. I hope she escapes with Tyrion, but don't think that will really happen.

Jamie just couldn't help himself, and Cersei seemed to just want to get it over with so she could carry on with what she needed to do. The sibling sex thing was accepted with the Targareans, so I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal of it now. I think the out of wedlock is a bigger deal to them. (Though yes it is gross and I'm not sleeping with my brother ever.)

160. Do you think Jaime will listen to Tyrion’s side of things? Will Jaime be forced to choose between his two siblings?
If he is forced to choose he will choose Cercei.

162. Another battle at the wall! Again, I thought all was lost but the brothers triumph. Does the Wall really protect itself or was it just good strategic planning?
The wall has magic too, so it would protect itself to some extent, but also well designed for defence. More battles to come though I think.

163. Jon now commands the Wall (at least temporarily). I keep forgetting he is so young! He’s what, 16 or 17? Yep, Ygritte is dead and burned. No bastard heir (yet). Do you we know how far away Sam and Bran are from Jon?
Sam is south of the wall heading towards Jon, so shouldn't be too far away. Bran is north of the wall now. I don't know where he is going, but I don't expect him to run into Jon anytime soon.

164. I’m relieved that Arya is safe. How sad she saw her mother dead when she was dreaming! I had forgotten about Lysa…good idea to take her there. The Hound says Arya’s not worth spit to him now, so why does he continue to take care of her?
I think he is trying every last ditched effort to get something out of capturing Arya.

165. OK, now the Hound wants to take Arya to Riverrun but she wants to go to the Wall. To me, neither sounds like a safe option! Do you think she would be better off with Blackfish or with Jon Snow?
I think she should sail to Bravos, find that guy and learn how to be an assassin.

166. Wow, even Bronn won’t fight for Tyrion now. Does he have a chance at all? Seems nobody minds lying at the trial. If Tyrion does confess, do you believe Tywin would send him to the Wall?
I think Tywin would stand by his offer better that Joffrey did to Eddard. I can see Tyrion at the wall. He got on ok with Jon, and would be an assett there.

167. Hmmm, Oberyn as champion. I like it…a chance to kill his sister’s murderer. Should be a good fight! However, do you think the Mountain would come as commanded? I get the feeling he may go rogue.
I don't know what will happen next. Have to keep reading...

168. Do you think Jaime can be a successful Commander of the Kingsguard with only one hand? He’s not getting respect from everyone. Will Ser Boros pay for his insolence?
He will never be able to protect well with the sword, but he would be great at managing things. It depends on whether they will respect him enough to follow his direction. It wouldn't surprise me if Jamie and Tyrion end up at the wall. I don't think Cersei wants either of them around anymore.

169. I think Jaime has almost convinced Loras that Brienne didn’t kill Renly. It appears Jaime believes a shadow was the culprit. Does his belief have more to do with his belief in supernatural occurrence or his faith in Brienne? So, if/when Brienne is released, what will she do? Stay in King’s Landing?
I don't think she will want to stay in Kings Landing - send them all to the wall....

170. Regarding Ser Loras, Knight of the Flowers, in the TV series, it’s made explicitly clear that he and Renly are lovers. So, as I’ve been reading, I’ve been looking for clues to this wondering if GRRM wrote it that way or if the producers were taking artistic license. There are hints such as the “Rainbow Guard” and the fact that Margaery is still a virgin, but I never saw anything definitive until one scene in which Jaime tells Loras, “I’ll take it [the sword] from you and shove it up some place even Renly never found.” (Chapter 62 Jaime) So to me this was saying, yes they had been lovers and people knew about it. Anyway, my main point here is that if they were, why wasn’t it made more explicit? Would a relationship such as this alienate readers? It’s ok to have incestuous twins but not two men in love? Thoughts?
I don't know. It hadn't been relevant to the story, so not pointed out so much. It might be a layer that is unwrapped as it becomes more relevant.

171. It began in Sansa’s last chapter (61), that first niggling doubt that she might not have been better off with Tyrion. Hindsight being such a wondrous thing, it rises again. Will Sansa continue to compare her marriage to Tyrion with her currently precarious situation and finally realize some truth about Tyrion as the story goes on? Ugh! Being married to Robert, she just might!
I think she might, but it might be too late by then.

172. “A harp can be a dangerous as a sword, in the right hands.” Lord Petyr Baelish, Littlefinger, has a way of twisting words to suit his purpose. Right off the bat, we hear more half-truths regarding Tyrion character when Littlefinger tells Sansa her husband turned his first wife over to the guards when he grew tired of her. Later Littlefinger tells her, “Clean hands, Sansa. I thought Prince Oberyn would win the whole time, because I like Tyrion and the Prince had a personal vendetta against the Mountain. Maybe he will end up at the wall now. He wasn't proven innocent or guilty, so that would be a fair judgement, not death but not freedom.

I think he will die. i don't think she will forgive him. She had the chance to kill him herself, but didn't want to give him mercy.

I think he was a hard man, only afraid of fire and his brother because of what happened in his childhood. I think his life went in a certain direction and he didn't have much choice, but I don't think he really dwelled on any of it. He accepted when his time was up and didn't seem afraid of death.

For all the politics she plays, Cersei does not seem to dig too deeply. I think she really believes that Tyrion did this because she hates him and he was in the area. If she would think, others seem to have a better motive, even Joffrey’s new in-laws.

Ghost reminded him that he was linked to the old gods and shouldn't renounce them, and that he will never truly be a Stark.
I think the Targareans followed the seven but not sure where Dany stands right now. I wouldn't be surprised if she begins to follow the red womans god and comes across it in the city she now holds.

I didn't suspect Lysa in killing her husband. I did have the feeling that she'd had a crush on Littlefinger when they were young and was jealous of her sister, but not to that extent. I though Littlefinger was manipulating Lysa and didn't really love her, I thought he'd loved Catelyn, and had a crush on Sansa because she looked so similar. Lysa had served her purpose by marrying him, he now has the Eyrie and doesn't need her alive to keep it.

I would not have believed Tyrion would kill his father, though he deserved it. Did I misunderstand or did Tyrion also kill Shae? Because that surprised me as well.

I suspect yes. I wish he had not done that because I think Jaime would have believed him either way.

I was shocked but should not have been. I think she had a deep-rooted resentment over Littlefinger’s affections, so vulnerable to his plottings. I wonder whose son Robert really is? I think it made sense for Littlefinger to kill her. She was unstable, which would be dangerous for him, given his constant plotting and manipulations. Also, that singer had a deal of influence over her that could also be dangerous. And, she was clearly going to keep him away from things he wanted (like Sansa) so he got what he needed from her and had the opportunity to knock her off early. Obviously, my cold-hearted planning here is spurred by reading three of these books so far…

I think she may have made the right decision. He did not seem very remorseful.

I did feel this was an unusual move for her beening that she wanted to get there so bad and be queen. I do see herbdelima though, wanting to protect her people and moving such a large amount of people must be hard.
