I'm planning on watching the tv series when I'm done. I've seen the first 2 after I read the first 2 books, have been saving the 3rd until I finish these buddy reads.
I think where you guys are at it is Danny's next chapter that is one of the best ever - the unsullied? I want to see people's comments.

Renee wrote: "Yay for ebooks and search functions"Yes, that feature has been very helpful with these books. :)
Mirliz wrote: "I'm torn between hating him, and starting to admire that he actually does have good qualities"It's a love hate thing for me as well.
Teresa wrote: "particularly after the conversation with the translator confirming that they would kill a prior owner."Lol, I did not catch that when I was reading that part.
Zonnah wrote: "I hope so but then I have been wishing that for Sansa and it is not working. For some reason, her innocence bothers me less than Sansa's. Perhaps because Briane sees the best in others and Sansa sees the best for her.
Another thought I just had. Maybe Melisandre isn't as bad as she seems and has forseen the others coming and is the only person in the south trying to do anything about it. We know fire kills them, and she's got the fire thing going, stone dragon might be another defence - maybe the same one the wildlings want to wake with the horn.... Ok enough contemplation and back to reading so I can find out.
Renee wrote: "is the only person in the south trying to do anything about it."I was wondering the same thing. The series is called a song of ice and fire. Milisandre is fire and the others are ice.
Teresa wrote: "And she was significantly better looking than the others, so perhaps targeted to Tyrion?"Interesting point.
Renee wrote: "I'm thinking I should have bought a book to write down all the clues and teasers to try to make sense of it all."Me too. I feel so lost sometimes.

Teresa wrote: "I was more surprised that he ran from the Wildings."Me too.
Teresa wrote: " I don’t think losing his hand changed him in particular."
Do you think he was this way from the beginning and Martin just choose to not show us yet? Like Renee said.
Renee wrote: "I just think we are discovering more layers to his character. I don't think he was ever pure evil. The things we percieve as bad things that he has done, have been for love. To sacrifice few to save many, to protect the people he cares about."
Renee wrote: "I wonder if it will yurn out that the others aren't pure evil too - I hope not, I need a bad guy to hate."I was wondering the same thing. Martin does like to do the unexpected.
Zonnah wrote: "Teresa wrote: " I don’t think losing his hand changed him in particular."Do you think he was this way from the beginn..."
Yes, I agree with Renee that his character has been somewhat static and we have simply learned new layers. It is an interesting part of the way Martin is narrating the book through multiple characters that change in the different books. First, we saw Jaime from the outside, then from within. The closer look has shown themotivations were not pure evil, even if the actions were. Ha - didn't help Theon much, though, did it?
Renee wrote: " I think they need him to get his wife pregnant so there is an heir that is part Frey."I did not even think about that but you are right.

Tell me about it! I have already decided that I will be rereading the series when I am done.
