I enjoy reading most books but tend to read towards sci-fi and fantasy. I'm also looking to try read through some of the classics.

Adriana | 3888 comments How do you read all those books at once?

Caitlin | 30 comments Well, I don't usually.

Right now, though, I'm reading The Wasp Factory for another goodreads book club. I realized pretty quickly that I'm not going to like it very much so I can't read a lot of it at time, so I started to read The Local News to help me keep my reading pace.
Then I found out recently my library had a local book club that had a meeting coming up so I'm trying to finish "Please Don't Come Back From the Moon" so I can join in.

Caitlin | 30 comments I finished The Wasp Factory.

It is so hard to rate/review a book that is in a genre that I don't like. I honestly only read this book because it was picked for a book club.

I would recommend it to people who enjoy those types of books (disturbing, dark), but it's not for me.

Caitlin | 30 comments Just finished Please Don't Come Back from the Moon.

I enjoyed this book. It follow's the narrator's as he grows up after a lot of fathers (including his own) in the neighborhood leave and "go to the moon." I liked how pointless growing up seems to be.
Also, this is the first book I've ever read that takes place in my state, around the area where I live. It was fun to have them mention places and know exactly what they were talking about.
I thought the ending felt a little abrupt and it made me wish it had a bit more of a point, but it was still an enjoyable read.

Caitlin | 30 comments Finished The Local News.

I enjoyed most of this book. I just felt like the author didn't really know how to end the story after the mystery of the missing brother is solved.

I enjoyed the point of view of the main character and her dealing with being in the lime light in school after her popular brother goes missing. Meanwhile, at home, she's dealing with her not-really-there parents. Unfortunately, I feel like the author didn't really know how to end the story after the brother of the missing brother is solved. It's like the book wanted to say something really profound but didn't quite make it.
3/5

Heather | 44 comments I'm trying to read more classics myself! So I read The Time Machine, which you might like with it being the fantasy/sci-fi type and a classic!

I would highly recommend The Rosie Project, it's a New York Times bestseller...was on one of my book club reads, a very good and funny read :)
