ABANDONED. Romance novel - a couple broke up but was attracted to each other again

So I'm looking for this book that I read some 10 years ago (but the book must've been older than that). I remember very little about it. It was probably adult romance. A couple broke up for some reason. The woman met a new person and was going to marry him when she found herself once again drawn to her ex. I recall a particular scene where she went to her ex's hotel room and they were talking when someone knocked (probably room service). She hid herself in the shower for a while and took that time to take a shower. Something probably happened between them after she came out of hiding.
Well that's about all I can remember. There might have been a character named Gabriel(le) or something. Thanks everyone for reading and I hope someone can identify the book for me.
