Michael Benavidez That may explain a lot haha thank you for the correction :)

Sinistmer | 212 comments I finished Oryx and Crake. I found the setting and main storyline enjoyable, but had some quibbles with the title characters.

I can expand on this if anyone wants to talk about the book.

I am now reading David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants to improve my nonfiction count.

Allen | 2 comments I'm in the middle of Population Countdown. Shockingly, pretty Damon good. Reminds me of The Passage a little, but not crazy long. Population Countdown Fight for Mankind by Nicolle Barbee

The Fairy-Tale Detectives was a lot of fun! I'm actually considering adding the fairy tales I've always wanted to read in full, to my "Classics" list as possible challenge for myself next year.

Yes, yes, I am already thinking about it...

I'm still making my slow way through the Narnia books. I'm trying to find the energy to write my reviews and post some thoughts in the discussion threads, but it's been a hell of a pain week and I'm at the point where if I can get through the day and still string together a semi-coherent sentence at the end of it, I'll call it a good one. So far there has not been a single day of 2014 where it hasn't rained. (If the water company start going on about drought again this summer, I will throw one of them in the reservoir.)

I've just started the fourth book, The Silver Chair and realised that I don't remember anything about it. Nothing. I'm sure it'll come back to me as I read but it's strange -- I've read all of the Narnia books plenty of times (though it's been years since the last time), and I remember the gist of all of them except this one book.

Great minds think alike. Apparently they forget alike as well. ;)

If you see the pharmaceuticals I get through on an average day, I figure I'm doing good if I can remember my name. (Just don't ask me to remember my age, because apparently I've gotten it wrong twice this week.)

Jackie (thenightowl) Oh no! It's contagious! :P

I started The Light Fantastic yesterday. I didn't get very far in before my eyes mysteriously started closing on me. O_o Hate when that happens.

Emily (ohmagichour) | 510 comments How was everyone's reading month? I had a shockingly amazing reading month and managed to read 31 books, including one short story and three graphic novels. Favorites of the month include Howl's Moving Castle, Saving Francesca, The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, Reality Boy, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, and Winger.

Paul 31! That is an amazing reading month! Makes me look like I wasn't trying with my 7 novels two short stories and a novella. ;)

Last novel of the month was Nocturnal. Another really great read. Kinda a "police procedural meets horror, meets superhero". Fantastic characters, great plot and action scenes. I don't think it will be for everyone as there are definitely "horror" elements in there (just a warning rather than an attempt to put people off)

But don't take my recommendation. There's a trailer (if you think this looks cool then read this book!)
