Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments OK i must say this about Jeff totally random.. He drunk cleans. much better at our current home we have a dishwasher so when the dishes aren't pristine by a hand washing the machine takes care of the rest, when we were at our old ghetto apartment i would open the cupboard and find some not so clean icky things.

message 402: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Apparently there are others on the site who are braver than you, but Kurt has to be in the same room with me while pissed, so I suppose that is brave. He's worn a few things that I bet were pretty painful.

Lauren;

That is so funny. I'm sorry, I'm imagining Kurt doing that and I'd kill him. He's cooked while drunk and forgotten about it. I've woke to an oven full of chicken nugget pellets, black pizza shrunk to the size of a mini pizza. Now I listen for him, once he's in bed, I sneak out and turn everything off if I need to. Talk about a fire hazard.

message 403: by Paul (new)

Paul Henry, are your poor guys still in the forest, freezing their butts off? Much longer and it'll be spring for them.

message 404: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Awe, I didn't get a bear and I was gone for FOUR DAYS!!!!! Where's my bear Henry? All I got was a squid. Shows who's got more love in this place.

I'm going to talk to my squid and disect (spelling?) prisoners.

message 405: by Paul (new)

Paul I've been training Artie to do that. The boy shows natural aptitude. Can he help you Renee? Please?

Besides, I've run out and need to get some more.

After dissecting, Artie liks to snack.

message 406: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Sure, I've decided that the Bell employees, and the moron who messed up paving our street so that there's a giant lip on the end of the driveway. It's worse than a speedbump. He's definitely up for dissection.

message 407: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments i think henry just likes me because i said i could be his cover story, and well my husband is gay.

we are making a pot roast right now. its our celebratory, yeah we got our house back.

message 408: by Renee (last edited Aug 16, 2009 07:26PM) (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Kurt's not that tough. I could take him, in his sleep. I did get a dance, sorry I forgot. Kurt is 270lbs just so you have the right visual. I included his picture in my vacation pics on my blog. Just his head, but Kennedy is in it too, so compared to her head his is ginormous. He's not happy that I did that. I don't care. I'm going to take a picture of him sleeping post it somewhere. He's an ugly sleeper. Mouth wide open, snoring, drool hanging, whisker shadow. Ugly. Sometimes his tongue is doing this wierd half in-half out thing. It's strange.

message 409: by Paul (new)

Paul I feel another horror story coming on. Picture the opening scene.

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

A MAN sleeps on the bed, half-under the covers. His mouth is wide open; he snores. A thread of drool hangs down, connecting the corner of his mouth to the pillow. His tongue is doing half in and half out of his mouth, twitching as though he is speaking a secret language.

POV camera: ZOOM IN on the thread of drool. Strange, barely seen shapes are moving up thread from the pillow to his mouth like salmon climbing a waterfall. A whispering is heard...

message 410: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Shoot Paul, now he's going to have to sleep in the basement. Possessed drool I cannot handle. It's bad enough he farts in his sleep.

message 411: by Paul (new)

Paul Great working title for this film/novella.

"Drool!"

No, you can't have it, I thought of it first.

message 412: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Fine, but I get the one about the possessed butt.

message 413: by Paul (new)

Paul OK, that's a deal

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments I started school today, my creative writing class consisted of introductions and the knowledge that our book was changed due to an instructor change. so now i have a book that needs to be returned for a refund and another one coming in the mail, because i totally bought all my books then rebought them on amazon and half.com so that i could get my money back but ensure that i had the right books for my class and in time to do the work until the replacements get delivered.

im a thrifty nerd.

yeah i did a bunch of stuff today and then ended up taking a nap. i need to wake up, start doing laundry, and finish the dishes, so i can go to the gym. i get to teach dance tomorrow, so i have my brit lit class then off to shake my booty for 5 hours. no gym tomorrow i think that would be over kill. just bought a new 2G flash drive at staples for all my school work it was only 10 dollars. i don't remember if ellen reads my thread, but next time you go to the store just look at the last minute ADD buys, because there are tons of flashdrives disguised as weird things there. if you go to target or bestbuy or any of those office supply stores they tend to have atleast one at the front, even in some of our grocery stores they have them, its kind of weird and awesome.

message 415: by Paul (new)

Paul Hi Lauren, don't seem to have spoken for a while. You have busy days. At least they're quite varied.

I have to laugh when Americans say 'I started school today.' I have this picture of little snotty kids in school uniforms, with satchels, waiting for the big yellow bus...

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments no it was more me driving around a parking lot for ten minutes looking for parking, getting sent to a spill over lot, walking for 10 minutes back to campus from the vet's stadium parking lot three blocks away carrying my backpack and a huge bottle of water, then going up and over this sky walkway ramp thing, cause i thought if i waited for the light i would be late to class. getting lost in the P building because the numbers make no sense, finding my classroom that looked not so much like a classroom but a really crowded library that you would have found in pride and prejudice aside from the modern tables, chairs, projection screen and random tech cabinet. found out my professor is due to have a baby next month so she was replaced by the chair of the creative writing department, who changed the books for the course, so when my books come from amazon and half.com i will have to return one and that at some point read the cheap one because it will probably make me a better writer. then i went and sang, came home had some left over pot roast, went back to school spent 20 minutes looking for parking, got to my class about 10 minutes early, which was lucky since there were 10 people without desks or chairs and were sitting on the floor, there were about 20 people trying to add the class, the teacher said he was going to try and get us a bigger room. Yeah, it was amazing how many of the people enrolled in the class were not psych majors and how many of the people trying to add were. then i went to staples, and came home because the crew left a charger for some of their equipment at my house so i had to wait for someone from production to come pick it up, i ended up taking a nap and the minute i fell asleep they called, i took it down to them passed out again, woke up around 730pm watched bad television for an hour, then went to the gym and swam a 1000 meters, forgot my goggles, so i was swimming blind and could only see where i was going when i took my breaths, then i went in the sauna where a 60 year old white woman had her huge boobs made by jesus hanging out and was staring at me. i tried to ignore her. when i got out she was smiling at me, so i tried to be nice and she looks at me all cockeyed and says, "you have the most beautiful skin." then she asked if it was because of the sauna, and i proceeded to tell her my workout regiment, of well sweating in a pool is kind of self cleaning, and then the sauna gets out the chemicals in my skin, and i sometimes mix honey with sea salt and give myself a body scrub and i only use Lush products and i love coalface and mask of magniminty they are great products and that's how my skin gets this way. then she told me i should by a water filter for my shower, i told her i had one and didn't like it, then she told me that i really should get one because its so much better for my skin. my skin that she just complimented me on. yeah, weird, and the fact that her big o titties were hanging out the whole time made it even weirder. then i got some del taco came home, and watched murder she wrote with jeff. he put it in not me, and now i think he's addicted. i love angela landsbury, and now bed time, and apparently a blow by blow of my day.

message 417: by Paul (new)

Paul OK, sorry I asked :)

You do seem to meet some very strange people. Good job you don't live in Tweed!

About the only things I can directly relate to in that (not doing the skin thing or swimming or saunas or water filters or psych or driving) are Staples, pot roast and Murder She Wrote. That last passes the time quite agreeably.

Anyway(s), if you're off to bed, have a good sleep. Dream of me if you like to wake screaming :)

message 418: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments yeah, screaming.

i love murder she wrote.

i think it's mostly because i love angela landsbury, she reminds me of my grandma but nicer and more crafty.

i cried so hard when she gave her tony acceptance speech. i just think she is so brilliant, and one of my favorite movies when i was little was bedknobs and broomsticks. i have a copy of the stage production of sweeny todd. she is the perfect mrs. lovett. i think because i love her so much in that role and just how manic she is, i didn't care for helena bonham carters rendition, eventhough she is my favorite contemporary actress. i've been in love with her since a room with a view, and most of the time i think she is absolutely sublime, and underrated, even if she is a home wrecker.

message 419: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) My mom used to force us to sit through Murder She Wrote, or perhaps I would have enjoyed it. I did love Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Home wrecker? What? I am out of the loop. Please do tell.

message 420: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments helena did mary shelley's frankenstein with kenneth braghnan, can't spell, and he left emma thompson for helena after that movie. then she did planet of the apes with tim burton and he left his wife for her too. she's a bit of a homewrecker but i think she and tim have found their one true freak.

message 421: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I see. Yes, I think they are freaky enough for each other. If not, then maybe Henry will be to that level soon, he can give her a shot.

message 422: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments in the heat of all the ridiculousness starting school and working and going to the gym and getting in a fight, resolving the fight with my husband, i managed to write a poem, and a 180 words yesterday. woohoo.

message 423: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) You go girl. A 180 word poem? What was it about? Was it angsty? I love angsty poems.

message 424: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments it was totally angsty, it was about not being normal, teaching people to hate and gay bashing.

message 425: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) That's the best kind of angsty.

message 426: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments 100 words of awkwardness for rita j's website.

message 427: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments another 83 words for bad metaphors.

message 428: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments im going to san jose for the weekend for my grandmother's 80th birthday, i anticipate trying to get all my homework done, not being connected to the internet and coming back on monday and spending about 3 hours catching up on all the threads. ok tired already. have a good weekend guys.

message 429: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Hope you have a great time with your Gran. Be safe.

Paul Have fun Lauren!

message 432: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments thanks guys, leaving in 10 minutes. oh sleepy.

message 433: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments im back but its late and i have homework to do and sleep to get, will catch up with everyone tomorrow.

i wrote a lot but for homework so that doesn't count. analyzing feminist poetry is not writing. well writing for my word count, or taking notes.

message 434: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments lots of reading other peoples stuff not much writing my own, but we did a cliche' worksheet today, where there were selected starting or ending words and we had to fill in the blanks and not make it a cliche, here's my favorite that I wrote.

prompt:
A ______________________ moon.

my line:
A car passed by as the man dropped his pants revealing a full moon.

off to make my 10 imagery lines for class on monday.
i finished sir gawain and the green knight at lunch today, well part 2 which is what we are discussing tomorrow.
so i'll work on the 90 pages of reading i will be tested on in my english 1 class on friday. second class, first test on a 90 page reading assignment. shoot me now.

message 435: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) We'll hold off until after the test. If you pass, then we won't hold you to your request. If you fail....

message 436: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments tolkien did a translation, but the original author is annoymous, they don't know who he was, but they refer to him as the pearl author, because this poem was with three others including the pearl.

ok now i sound like a brit lit nerd and i have only had three class sessions.

message 437: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol,I've never read any book by him. But in second grad emy teacher read us The Hobbit. Though most of us didn't understand half of it.

message 438: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments As for being nuts about languages: the man who wrote our spelling unit last year must've been too. He wrote packets for sixth graders on Latin stems and words. He actually went through classic books and found those words in use. That man is impressive.

message 439: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments i got an A on one of the tests, pretty sure i got an A on the other one, we took two tests one for each chapter.

so everyone can put down the revolvers, needles and shotguns.

message 440: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh, I'm so relieved. I really didn't want to have to shoot you. If you had failed, I was only going to shoot you in the foot, then you'd have a chance to pass again.

Don't worry, that's what friends are for.

message 441: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments im glad i can still wear my dancing shoes, she types as her eyelids get heavy

message 442: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments its so hot.

lots of reading and an essay about my family's coming to california to write. but basically, i feel sick, my body is boiling and i hate being a girl.

argghh.
want popscicles.

message 443: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments oh, and i was supposed to go sing at a retirement home today and i flaked because it hurts to stand. i've been pretty much either in bed or on the couch all day, yeah so much for aleeve being an all day pain reliever and you aren't supposed to take more than one a day... i like having normal liver function. again. arrggh.

message 444: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments aww sorry Lauren hope you feel better

message 445: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments thanks daisy.

message 446: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments when i was in high school i never got cramps
then in college i would get them every once in awhile and for some reason the past couple of years they have just been getting worse and worse. i think my body is retaliating because i haven't massaged it with a baby yet, or a baby making activity in a year.

message 447: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments aww you remind me of Fran

message 448: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) It doesn't get better after babies, I don't know if that will make you feel better or not. It is worse for me now, I used to think it was bad, but no. From 10 days of that crap to 17 is not fun. We have to get a prescription for aleeve. I got one, it is not an all day pain reliever, but I get to take two a day. Maybe I should rethink that. I only take them for migraines though.

message 449: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments Renee wrote: "It doesn't get better after babies, I don't know if that will make you feel better or not. It is worse for me now, I used to think it was bad, but no. From 10 days of that crap to 17 is not fun. We..."

I get migraines. Rarely. But now I always have a caffeinated drink and ibuprofen in the nurse's office. And ADHD meds because according to my mother people like me better when i'm medicated

message 450: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) People like me better when I'm medicated too Daisy. And I don't have ADHD. I'm just cranky.
