I actually really really loved the book. It was an emotional roller coaster and I just got really invested in the characters even when I wasn't happy with their antics. It was interesting how they dealt with this inescapable fate of theirs. I mean, if they were like sheep it was because they've technically been raised like livestock if you think about it. There really wasn't anywhere for them to turn which is the tragedy of it all. I am interested in reading more books by Ishiguro!
Alright - help me out. I'm very early in the book - starting chapter 3. Am I supposed to know what's going on? What is a carer? What are they donating? It's categorized as science fiction, but I'm not quite getting it yet. Should I be?
Just keep reading; all will be explained as the story unfolds and the kids grow up. Basically they slowly realize things as they come to a certain age.
