Wyrmie: Feel free to count any and all of the books you read, children's titles including. A book is a book, a story is a story :)
Michelle: A book a week is a great goal!
I, myself, have read 14 books so far this year (so about two per week) and am very much enjoying some new titles such as "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell and "Watchers" by Dean Koontz. Plus my new series addiction: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I flew thru the first two and am anxiously awaiting the library delivery of the third. It's smart and witty, classic and futuristic all in one package!
Keep going, Challengers! The sky is the limit :)

What great new books have y'all been reading? What did you love? Was there a book that you didn't love and thought you would or vice versa?
For me, I'm not normally a trend follower but since I heard mixed things about "The Fault in Our Stars," I decided to give it a go. And I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it, which is an odd thing to say about a book that made me cry. It was witty and fun but also a little dark and morbid. The main characters had wonderful interactions and unexpected personalities that made the book far less depressing than the Nicholas Sparks type novel that I anticipated.
I can't wait to read something else by Green, I think I will try "Paper Towns" next.
I'm 3 books behind but pushing for that 100 books goal!
We're almost halfway done the year. How is everyone else doing?

Finally took a plunge into Russian Literature and it just blew me away!! Extremely gratifying year so far :)

22 out of 100 books read so far this year for me. Slow and steady so far.

I'm going for 50, but I didn't start until about a month ago!

According to goodreads I'm 2 books behind schedule (better than 7 books behind schedule in May)

I just finished book number 43 out of my goal of 100 for the year and I have to admit I wasn't all that impressed with that choice: The Magicians by Lev Grossman. Not the best book despite the rave reviews it received.
I'm open to suggestions. Anything you all are reading and loving?

I'm at 60 out of 100 books and as I will starting school again in the fall, I'm hoping to read 70 before classes start. How is everyone else doing?
And for those of you keeping track, so far we have a total goal of over 6,000 books!! Way to push the boundaries everyone!
Books I've loved:
Horns by Joe Hill
Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris
Illusion by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Chronicles of Nick series)
Ripper by Stefan Petrucha
And if you're not reading the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, get on that!!
