This will cover the rest of our Winter Comfort Reading Challenge and could be an incentive to curl up with some of the over-sized books...."
This one suits me perfectly, as I'm reading a lot of big books at the mo.
None of the books I plan to read in August are anywhere near 450 pages :) But I hope to read HEAPS with Bout of Books Readathon, 18-24 Aug!
Well I managed to get in two chunky reads that were big enough for the jul/aug challenge. how did everyone else go?

Huh, badly for big books. :)

particular book.
I just read what I am given to review or books from friends who send me book parcels of library chuck outs.
Just had a great Anne Perry I had never read before.

Yes Talia. I think that's what we'll go for in September - NO POINTS CHALLENGE unless others express a wish to have the challenge. I'm getting a bit behind too,so I'll get the August points/pages totted up shortly. It looks like it might be you and Kathleen again, but I'll let everyone know whose going to be organising the challenge for October before too long.:)

Talia wins the most book pages for August by a whole lot! She also one the July/August points challenge with a total of 115 points!
Earned points for July/August were:
Kathleen 55
Talia 115
Sharlene 30
Me 35
Congratulations Talia - you get to come up with the points challenge for October.

10 points for a first book in a series read
15 points for a second in the series
20 points if you read the third and any subsequent books in the series
I'll throw one in for those who might be reading from our October Activities -
25 Points for each book read in the Off Your Shelf category where the cover has a ghoul, ghost, food treat or halloween pumpkin pictured.
Whoever gets the most point in this month's challenge gets to create the final challenge for the year in November.

I'd like us all to read it sometime as it's great. She writes wonderful S.F.

They are the best of SF in that they are intelligent books, difficult reads sometimes, which make the reader think about our cherished beliefs and concepts. Who wouldn't like a curse 'May all her children be males'!

Since there are now just three taking part in the page numbers, I suggest we terminate the challenge this month and declare Talia the BLK 2014 Page Turner Champion with Kathleen a close Runner-Up
Thanks to those who took part. If a repeat of this is wanted in 2015 the decision is yours. :)

Sorry not to conform. I do try but time is so scarce it's all I can do get here to mention the books I've read. I am a speed reader which is great but I am not a speed writer. And there's a new novel to finish!

Congrats to Talia and Kathleen!
