Crystal (wisegirlonfire) Amber scanned the shelves

Ethelind looked up at the big, tall shelves. It was a huge library, with rows upon rows of books, as she noticed. Her fingers scanned the spines of some; usually hardbacks. Oh, how she had missed the library back home where her parents lived.
She explored the Austen's section, before picking out one of the spindly-blinded covers and examining it closely, sitting over in one of the red cushioned armchairs. Sense and Sensibility the cover read as she flipped it open and begun to read quietly.

Trey walked in and looked through the shelves

message 6: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo sauntered in, smiling at the large bookshelves. This was one of the only places in the Erudite compound where she felt safe.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Ethelind smiled at the new Intiates.

Trey looked up and smiled back at Ethelind
he chose a book at random from a shelf and sat down in a corner to read

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Ethelind got up and sat next to Trey. She smiled, pointing to the book he was holding. "What is it?" she asked. "That you're reading."

message 10: by Alex (new)

Alex Emy walked into the library hoping to find Piper, no such luck. Instead she scaled the shelves looking for a good book.

Trey looked up and saw a girl next to him. "oh this? just a random one I picked up from the shelves. Sorry, I am being so rude, my name is Trey, you are?" he leaves a respectful silence for Ethelind to answer he may have been Candor, but he liked to be respectful

message 12: by Alex (new)

Alex Emy looked to her left where a guy and girl were talking about what book they were reading. Is all of Erudite this dull? she thought. She picked up a random copy of Moby Dick that her dad used to read to her.

Trey blushes, and sees someone over from them. he looks at her and sees she is reading Moby Dick, a favourite of his

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ethelind." She holds out her hand to the boy, and smiles warmly; her eyes were glittering, the lights in the library had turned them an obscure fixture of greens and blues though it wasn't really sure what colour they were. They seemed to change with the weather or her mood, or maybe it was just the brightness of the room. "You like Herman Melville?" She watched as he diverted his gaze to the other end of the room, towards the girl with the Moby Dick book, which she was now holding in her hands. "And... whales?" She coughed, embarrassed, as she began to blush a hot, red vermillion shade.

Trey blushes again "umm yeah, what um books do you like?" he tries weakly, he had never had to do this before, in Candor you always told the truth, it was really hard for him to not say he liked her. "would you like to go to the um Cafeteria?"

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Ethelind looked at him, curiously. She had never had much experience with telling what people thought of her; she never really thought much of herself, to be honest. She sighed. "I... I don't know," she said, at last. "I like... classics, I guess. The types of books that have you on the edge of your seat either with passion or romance or just a good thrill of the chase type of thing." She looked over at the girl with the Moby Dick book again, unsure of why she was still over there, in the corner of the room. "I... maybe we should go," Ethelind suggested. "To the Cafeteria, I mean."

message 17: by Alex (new)

Alex Emy glances down at the book in her hand, the two people kept glancing at her. She smoothed down her hair self-consciously. The two got up, "I'm.... I'm Emy..." She half lunged across the room, "Sorry.... Was I interrupting a...." She blushed and motioned to the two.

"umm yeah" Trey also glances over at the girl and he then stands up and pulls Ethelind up after he has gotten up. He looks into her eyes and then quickly looks back away and blushes a shade of crimson

message 22: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo walked in and sat beside the initiate who's glanced at her earlier. She started writing a rough draft as she knew most of the information she needed for this essay.

message 23: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River immediately went to find a dictionary to find the proper definition of "couple," so he could recite it later in his defense when the length of his essay would probably be questioned.

message 24: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo had started her first paragraph but then deleted it not liking the way she'd worded it.

message 25: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River wandered over to take the computer on the other side of Catron, murmuring to himself, "Couple, noun, two individuals of the same sort considered together; an indefinite small number..."

message 26: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo laughed out loud overhearing on of the boys and pressed her lips together stopping herself from laughing more. She'd already finished a couple paragraphs.

message 27: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments "They're going to ask why I'm only writing two pages. And then I will spew out this definition and everything will be okay. Or, at least, that's my logic."

message 28: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River began typing out his rough draft, finishing the first two paragraphs relatively quickly and beginning to go back and insert impressive sounding words everywhere.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Luka suddenly rushed in, blushing.

"Am I late again? I couldn't find the library." he said.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

No-one gave him a reply, so he went to a computer and started to type. He knew he could make up for lost time, as one of the skills they taught back in Candor was touch typing.

message 31: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo had finally finished her rough draft, and now she was just touching up her essay.

Leaf strolled in looking over all the initiates work.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Luka sat back and sighed. He was finally finished the draft. He began to edit.

message 33: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo finished her essay and smiled slightly pulling back from the computer.

Leaf wandered over to one of the initiates. He was pretty sure, this one's name was Catron. Leaf's eyes skimmed over Catron's essay.

message 34: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River finished his essay at the exact place on the page where he wanted it to finish and glanced over at Catron.

Mae entered the library a little later than the others, and sat down in front of a computer. Her fingers danced lightly across the keys as she pulled up ten different articles about the natural and chemical components of the serums. She scanned each article carefully, cross-checking the lists and charts as best she could, then checked each source site for reliability. She then opened a blank document, and began to type quickly.

message 36: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River looked over at a girl at a computer nearby. She seemed to be going all out and reading actual articles, rather than just writing off of memory and checking here and there. He should probably do that too...

...Nah.

message 37: by Sab (new)

Sab (unluckyducky) | 295 comments Cleo made a few more changes and corrections before she deemed the essay perfect. Well, close enough.

Leaf smirked at the back od Catron's head when he saw him tense. "You're doing fine"

message 38: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River saved his essay, then pulled up a blank document, just to see whether or not Leaf would react if he turned and thought that he had done no work at all.

message 39: by Evelina (new)

Evelina (EvelinaOfTheElves) | 889 comments Mod
((River is such a troll. :D))

Mae took a break from typing for a brief moment, and began to proofread. She scanned her work carefully, taking care to switch off the automatic correction program in the computer, knowing that it could make mistakes. She finished reading her page of work after about thirty-nine seconds, and read it over once more, this time cross-checking her paragraphs against each article, one at a time, taking into account the differences between each article. Once she was satisfied, she created a bibliography page, listing the links and sources to each article. She then searched and pulled up ten more articles, each regarding the history and development of the serum. She began the same process as she had previously gone through.

Trey walked in and sat at a computer, he started to write, just writing, his fingers flying over the keyboard, once he was finished he saved it and started working on a story

message 41: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 03, 2014 08:28PM) (new)

Luka looked over and saw that one of the guys (River?) hadn't done any work at all.

At least mine isn't the worst.

He finished proofreading for the second time.

message 42: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River caught Luka's gaze and grinned.

Mae glanced up from her work, and noticed another girl who was looking around. "Hey," she called out softly. "Do you want to proofread mine? I'll proofread yours. It always helps to have another pair of eyes."

Mae smiled, and got up from her chair. She made her way over to Bekah's seat. "I'm Mae, by the way. What's your name?"

message 45: by Evelina (new)

Evelina (EvelinaOfTheElves) | 889 comments Mod
Mae grinned. "That's an awesome name," she commented. "So... how are you liking Erudite?"

message 46: by Evelina (new)

Evelina (EvelinaOfTheElves) | 889 comments Mod
Mae smiled. "Yeah. Very much," she replied. "It's wonderful. There are so many books. Some of the people could stand to grow some modesty, though." She made a face.

message 47: by Evelina (new)

Evelina (EvelinaOfTheElves) | 889 comments Mod
Mae glanced over at the pair, then turned back to Bekah. She shrugged. "No idea," she admitted. "I'm not really that up to date on social stuff," she added with a chuckle.

((Sorry, but I should probably go. :/))

message 48: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River looked over in time to see a girl point at him. Hmm... So he was being talked about. He leaned back in his seat. Interesting...

message 49: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River began to laugh in spite of himself. What with all the odd looks everybody was flashing at each other, he couldn't really help it.

message 50: by CJ (new)

CJ | 1497 comments River watched their exchange, amused.
