That sounds tasty... Maybe some pictures later on from those of you who will cook?

I have made already rocky road, bun dough is having it's precious growing time, bread dough I'm going to make later (going to let it stand in room temp over night), ..But yeah, pics coming as soon as everything's done! :)
My mom and I always bake dozens of different cookies and put together trays for friends and family. I'll take a picture when we put together the next tray! My mom is a great cook and makes things look pretty too - I'm just the helper. :)
Here it has been nonstop action and no time for posting (I'm not so good at pictures with goodreads). :)
I've been busy with cooking and baking too! Cookies have been baked and we are almost finished with decorating them, nothing fancy, more the homemade style (chocolate dipping, spinkles and simple colored icing), but really Yum!
It’s already 2:00pm Christmas Eve and we all ready to start the celebrations! Before it gets too crazy around here, I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas! I hope you’ve all been good and you receive lots of prezzies!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Also a wonderful day to everyone not celebrating (try and enjoy how quiet the outside is for once!)I work nights and have to work over the holidays so my thoughts are with everyone else in my situation. I work 300 miles away from my family so I don't even get to spend the day with anyone. Thankfully everyone in my work gets on really well so it won't be too bad.
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a great day no matter if you celebrate or not. For many of you the big day is tomorrow, but in Norway it's today. It's 8.30 AM, so early yet. Enjoying a quiet morning with my cat :) I'm gonna watch that really not so good Cinderella movie that I have seen every year since I was a child^^ It is dubbed, but now it just has to be that way. Traditions haha.
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad! Happy Hanukkah! And happy everything! :)It's noon in Finland and I've been awake since 7am. I bake the bread as soon as I woke up, went to see my mother-in-law in hospital (she fell down while walking and broke some small bones), and now I'm waiting that it's time to go to my parents place. My sister and her family is there too, so whole family together!
And pics of my bakings will come tomorrow. Didn't remember to take pic from all of them and already packed those, so.. Gotta remember to take pics when at my parents.
Merry Christmas to everybody! I'm in Belgium, so the "big event" is on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day. It's close to midday now and I still have to work until 3pm. After that, it's off home to start the preparations for tonight. There's 8 people coming over and we're going to do gourmet. All my shopping has been done already but I still have to set the table, cut the vegetables, put the wine in the fridge, etc.
Tomorrow, Christmas Day, is a day to chill out. I'm expecting Santa to bring me a DVD I've really been waiting for, so hopefully I'll get to watch that tomorrow.
Hello all! Merry Christmas for all. I am running with my Christmas shopping but want to wish you a happy day and many bookish presents!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I'm cooking and baking today for our family celebration tonight (and of course, I'm listening to an audiobook as a bake - it makes the time pass so much faster!). We open xmas gifts with my nieces and nephew on xmas eve, then it's just my parents and myself on xmas day. I love the kids but wow, can they get crazy around Santa! Hope ya'll have several days filled with peace, love, and books:)
I got so many books, I can't wait to start them. But I will read my "old" books first... otherwise I'll never read them. Got some murakami ryou (my current obsession), and some recent books that are quite different from what I read usually - Self-Help by Lorrie Moore, and Richard Yates by Tao Lin. Read a few books by Tao Lin this year and it's the opposite of what I normally like... but I love them! Poetic, minimalist, sad and funny... I can't wait to read that.
And here's the pics I promised..
Buns with "quark eye"

Rocky roads

Bread with walnuts and raisin.
Those all were made by me. My mom and sister has made something too but didn't take pics.

Happy holidays everyone! Hope you all got some lovely books under your trees :) I didn't but I got some cash gifts and treated myself to the special illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the philosophers stone. It arrived from Amazon yesterday (I knew about the cash gift ahead of time)! I am very excited to start reading it!

I like being able to spend my Christmas money on books. I still have some some left that I haven't spent yet and haven't decided for sure what I want to buy.
Thanks everyone! I love baking and making other sweet edible things. And one can see that when looking at my body :DI'd like to have that illustrated version of Harry Potter. Saw it in local bookstore, but it's in Finnish and I'd like to have it in English. Though if I ever get kids, it'd be their first connection to wonderful world of Harry Potter, so it'd be good if it'd be in Finnish. And I gotta salute woman behind the translation, she did very good job!
And speaking of Harry Potter, we are going to watch all the HP movies during next few days! We have had this tradition to watch one movie series during Christmas time and this year it's Harry Potter!
Good Morning all! Hope you had a great holiday for those of you who celebrate Christmas that is. Anyone score some great holiday reading swag??? I have an amazon gift card calling my name. Can't wait to choose a few books to get me started in the new year :)
I got the most amazing Christmas ornament - a blown-glass stack of books:) And my cousin got me an old book that had been cut into my initial, so I'm excited to get back home and put it on my mantel. My birthday is today, so I'm crossing my fingers for an Amazon giftcard!

My family is the best. This year they all just gave me money and gift cards for books. They know me well. Very, very well. =) I am ready for to catch up on the big books I missed last year and bring on the new ones in 2016!

My parents for Christmas pretty much sent me into a bookshop a few weeks ago and told me to get what I liked as they'd pay for it, so after I ran around for a bit I eventually managed to come out with:
A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing
H is for Hawk
All the Light We Cannot See
A Brief History of Seven Killings
A Little Life
which I think is doing pretty well. :) I've also, uh, found myself unable to resist the Kindle pre- and post-Christmas sales. I've already picked up Let It Snow, Leviathan Wakes, We Were Liars, The Windup Girl, Why Don't Penguins' Feet Freeze?: And 114 Other Questions, What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions, and Watership Down, and expect to pick up at least Gilead and Call the Midwife: A True Story of the East End in the 1950s in the next short while. I'm awful, I know.

I wish I can sing let it snow... Weather here has been quite crazy. Is so warm and sunny!!! These is not a real winter here.... In theory I should not complain but nothing like a White Christmas when you live in Poland.... Megan have a very bookish birthday!!!
The weather has been weird here too (I'm in the US, in Illinois). Mostly warm for this time of year and lots of rain and even some thunderstorms, and some areas near me had tornadoes go through the other day. It didn't really feel like Christmas this year.
Very happy birthday Megan!Merja, lovely picture, your singing must have worked :)
Enjoying a sunny 27th Dec here, sunny with light breeze 22, forecast to reach 26 Celsius. Christmas period coincides with summer holidays in the southern hemisphere, it takes a while to get used to it

Thank you!
FYI, I got the coolest book gift from my parents - a kindle paperweight cover that looks like an actual book. It's Jane Eyre, because that's my fav book. Super excited that my paperweight looks like a legit book now;)
Oh I was looking at those the other day Megan! How exciting you got one and excellent choice on the Jane Eyre :)
I'm having so much trouble deciding what to buy in book form and what to get on my Kindle. It's paralyzing my gift card spending!
If you will buy some physical books I recommend Yes Please! Is a great hardcover or some graphic novels. For the Kindle things that doesn't have image. But everything is a temptation...
I should get a cover for my Kobo Touch but I don't know if I should make on by myself or should I look from Etsy. And I know that Etsy has many nice ones to choose from. I also should visit local bookstore to see if there's any good books on sale. My bank account though doesn't like that idea :D

I would check Etsy. There were tons of options for the different devices.
After a lovely week long visit, all my holiday guests have gone home, and i still have a week off work to do nothing but read.... I have been looking forward to this week for a long time!My family was kind and mostly got me books for presents, and i have some old (second-hand) books that i picked up at an insanely cool second hand book store in Ojai CA earlier this year, so i'm happily set for ignoring the real world for a week!
