Samantha (samswindle) | 68 comments Definitely romantic suspense and thrillers. Love Tess Gerritsen!! I also like Nelson DeMille. Not a big fan of young adult-I guess I'm too old!! LOL! I want to read the Hunger games series because I loved the movies and can't wait for the new movies to see how it ends. I also read strictly romance if the characters are well written and what I call "light" mysteries and/or series-Like Carolyn Hart . Also like Dorothea Benton Frank-her books are very good. There's not much I won't read!!! LOL!

I highly recommend Christy Reece's Last Chance Rescue series, beginning with Rescue Me. I've only read the first two but I can't wait to get back to it. It's romantic suspense.

I'm also a big fan of Julie Garwood's romantic suspense series called Buchanan-Renard, beginning with Heartbreaker.

For contemporary romance, one of my favorite authors is Molly O'Keefe. Her Crooked Creek series, beginning with Can't Buy Me Love, is REALLY good, especially the last book.

I also love Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor series, beginning with Simply Irresistible. The lovely thing about this series is she begins anew after three books. The connection is the town.

One last add....

I see you've started the Fatal series. The second book was a 5 star read for me.

Natascha Last year, I managed to read over 50 books, for the first time ever, I think. So, I wanted to try something bold and started the Goodreads challenge for reading 100 books! I'm already 5 books behind. There've been some changes in my personal life and I think I need to kinda re-adjust my daily schedule, including when to read. So, I might change the challenge again to fewer books. :P

But I joined some Goodreads groups and like 3 have a "Book of the Month" thing going on, so there are many opportunities to get started, I think. Plus, my to-read pile is ENORMOUS!

Just make sure to enjoy the process, no matter how many books you read. Join the "I have a huge to-be-read book pile" club! It's impossible to be part of this community and not gave one, what with all the great recommendations and sharing:)

Yeah, I guess that really is the most important thing. I've read many great books last year, but there have also been times when I couldn't really get into a book and it slowed my whole reading process down. It happens from time to time, I guess.

Lisa I've a goal of 104 books for the year so approx 2/ wk. This year my monthly goals the monthly reads for this group and JD group, my book club here at home which I co-ordinate, 1 crime/thriller, 2 popular reads or historicals and whatever left over romance of course. I also want to try more new authors so I think mainly through the popular or historical this will happen. When I say popular I mean current top rated best sellers ie Light Between The Oceans (next on my list) or The Book Thief! Obviously this will change but it's a starting point!

What a nice and interesting mix! Have fun with it and I hope you discover some new and favorite authors. I've got the audiobook edition of The Light Between Oceans and hope to get to it next month.

The Book Thief is one of my favorite books. Even though I knew what was coming near the end (the narrator comes right out and tells you a couple times during the course of the novel), I was still crying near the end. Don't let that deter you, though, because it is a wonderful read.
