Speaking of British TV, what i always loved were the "All Creatures Great and Small," series and also the "As Time Goes By," with a young Judi Dench.

I'm currently listening to:Animals in Translation: Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior*
by Temple Grandin.
For anyone interested in animals this book is a must. Audible.com may currently be offering a FREE audio-book. It can be a great opportunity to access the above-mentioned book FREE.
As with Temple Grandin's other book, The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum, Grandin reveals much information about how the human and animal brains work. I find her books fascinating and easy to understand.

Fault Line by Barry Eisler was the first book outside his John Rain series that I've ever read. I liked it better for the main character, but it's very similar otherwise. I read this as an ebook. My 3 star review is here:

I don't usually like to have 2 mysteries going at once in 2 formats, but it worked out well this time. Sternbergh's writing & world can't be confused with anyone else, that's for sure.
Jim, your review mentions that you liked the voice of the reader of the audio book. A good reader can really enhance the "reading" experience. I recently listened to an audible.com version of Unsinkable: A Memoir, written and read by Debbie Reynolds. I enjoyed the fact that Debbie Reynolds read her own bio. However, one reviewer commented that Debbie's reading wasn't very good and a different reader would have been better. I disagree. The reading may not have been perfect but Debbie's droll personality shone through the entire reading experience. That made all the difference to me.

Joy, reading about Debby Reynolds, "Unsinkable," reminded me of "Unsinkable Mally Brown," which in turn reminded me that we name our first sailboat, "Molly Brown." and it never sank.

I got one book of my list: #3 in the Rama series by Clarke. I've been halted in this series because of this book, I expect to read it sometime soon.And an Herb book.
The library will have a sale every other Friday going forward. Sadly, it's not organized in any way so I won't be going back for a while.
Glad you found at least 2 books at the sale, Jackie.I have Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama in my audible.com collection. I listened to about half of it but I don't remember finishing it. At least I tried it. :) P.S. My review says I finished it.

Started The Second Book of Swords, really like this series. Gave the first book 4 stars.Got my new books, can't wait to get start on those after I finish this Swords trilogy and an upcoming buddy read.

Jim, I just have the 3 Swords book, I don't have the Empire of the East series. I have a lot to read right now, so I won't be reading them immediately. I can probably get them from the library. I'll look into it, if they don't have them, then I would definitely want to borrow them when I'm ready to read them. TY for offering!
I finished the Second Book of Swords. After the abrupt ending of the last book, I expected it to pick up and continue about the war. Instead, I got a treasure hunt, set 5 years later. I consider this a side-story and want to be back to the real story but now I'm not sure what the next one will bring.Later tonight I'll be starting a buddy read with Werner, the 4th book of the Bright Empire series, The Shadow Lamp
Jackie, I understand what you mean about "side-stories". So often an author seems to get side-tracked, going off into tangents about minor characters who aren't that interesting. The authors must be so involved in their imaginary worlds that the think everyone else wants to go off on tangents with them. That's when they lose me.
I've just finished Divergent and The Shadow Rising. I'm currently listening to (and almost done with) Escape from Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West, and have just started reading The Forgotten Garden.If anyone is considering reading it, Escape from Camp 14, it is thought provoking and intriguing. It's the story of a North Korean who was born into the prison camps and his escape from Camp 14, which is supposed to be the worst of the camps.
The Forgotten Garden sounds interesting! Mysterious! I see that it's already on my to-read shelf.

Nina, I am enjoying it quite a bit. I'll need to look at other stuff that this author has written. :) My hubby has been out of town, so it's been just me with the kids... so I've only read a few pages in the last couple of days, but I love it! Joy, you must read it! :)

Those are thought provoking quotes, Joy. Thanks for sharing. Strange unsettling things happening last week. We receive an email saying a friend of our in Italy had collapsed and fallen in her son't garden and died by the time the ambulance arrived. Four hours later we receive another message saying she didn't die but was in a coma. This morning another message telling us she did die. Always sad to lose a friend. She was 74 and they figured died because of a cerebreal hemmoirage.
Nina, that's very sad. I send my condolences.
