D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments So it is finally *that* time again!

Cucumberpatch (A.K.A. Sherlock!) is back tonight and we'll finally find out how he survived jumping of a building at the end of the last series.

*Pompom Dance*

I hope you've got your hot chocolate and brownies at the ready, ladies!

What are you looking forward to most???

For me it's the banter between John and Sherlock and Sherlock's complete social ineptitude! The guy has NO filter!!!

Erica Matthews (ericamatthews) | 13 comments I agree. Been waiting too long for his return. My son introduced me to this series and I love it.

I really enjoy the growing relationship between John and Sherlock and hope that part continues to develop. He seems to be the only person who can touch Sherlock's emotions (with the exception of Irene).

message 3: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments I wasn't a huge fan of Irene...

I think Sherlock deserves someone better...

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments So what did everyone think?

message 6: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments Why didn't they reveal how he did the jump?! Or is it one of the ones they showed?

message 7: by D.D. Chant (last edited Jan 02, 2014 03:03AM) (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments I don't know...

I'm not sure if I believe the version he told (the guy with the beard) or not. On the one hand Sherlock is a huge show off, and I can imagine him wanting to tell everyone. At the same time he doesn't like the media limelight.

Was I the only one who thought the end scene, split by the explanation, seemed out of place??? I just wasn't as smooth as Sherlock usually is.

That being said, I was very pleased to see the banter was as good as ever, and I really liked John's girlfriend! Sherlock was as clueless as about relationships as he always has been, which I loved.

I really enjoyed John's reaction to Sherlock turning up out of the blue, alive.

message 8: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments I felt the split scene out of place as well.

I don't think that was the way he did it because the guy with the beard said it himself, why would you tell me of all people?

I think they will string it out over the series.

message 9: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments The scene where Sherlock is trying to surprise John and pretending to be a waiter was so funny!

message 10: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments Yes it was but poor John!!

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments Soph wrote: "Yes it was but poor John!!"

John hit him SOOO many times! I loved that they kept getting thrown out, and the subsequent restaurants were of a lower and lower quality!

Martin Freeman played those emotions really well, you could tell he was overjoyed to have Sherlock back, and soooo MAD at the same time!

message 12: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments Well if I was him I would have been so angry! It was funny though. Sherlock really has no sense of how to go about these things - constantly on about him moustache!

Lol! I'd almost forgotten that! And John's girlfriend saying that John wouldn't shave it off for her, but Sherlock just had to mention it, and it was gone!!!

message 14: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments Yes haha!!

message 15: by Faith (new)

Faith Brown (faithbrown) | 2 comments I'm so glad its back! the episode was completely awesome and everything I wanted it to be. I'm guessing the writers are leaving "how" he did it slightly up in the air, but the explanation he gave to Anderson, I'm assuming, is the real one.
I think my favorite part was Sherlock and Mycroft playing Operation and talking about their childhood. That and when we see Sherlock's parents.
In all - the whole thing was brilliant. Loved it.

Ladies, please, no spoilers! We won't get the new program in Australia for a month or two yet. I'll have to give up reading the GoodReads posts!

Shuhan [On Leave] (Inyourclosetinyourhead) I got the fall all right!!!

Sophie | 209 comments Wasn't episode 2 so good? It was so brilliantly funny - I loved the focus on the humour!

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments It was great, the speech was pretty epic! ;-P

message 21: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments Indeed! Long but brilliant ;)

message 22: by Annette (new)

Annette (annetteklarsen) | 58 comments I wasn't quite sure where they were going with it at first. It all seemed pretty random, but I LOVED how it came together in the end.

message 23: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (stress_less_jess) | 9 comments Yeah I didn't quite get it at first, but it was definitely the most humorous episode ever. Sherlock seems fractionally more human this season.

message 24: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 209 comments Yes it seemed very all over the place but it came together very well! Yes he does seen a bit more human!

message 25: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments I'm enjoying seeing Sherlock's human side, but at the same time I'm kinda missing his insults!!!

message 26: by Kitty (new)

Kitty | 16 comments I didn't know this thread was about the THAT Sherlock cuz I didn't imagine a book website discussing TV series. But what the heck, I absolutely love the show! I've already seen the 1st episode of season 3 but am wainting to see the 2nd closer to the 3rd episode's release cuz I know they'll be related

message 27: by Kitty (new)

Kitty | 16 comments The scene in which Sherlock reveals himself to Watson is rhe 1st one in which I've seen Sherlock nervous

Lol!

We discovered a shared love of Cucumberpatch and Sherlock during the course of one of our book chats. So the second the new series came out, a dedicated thread seemed a good idea! ;-D

I loved the first episodes development of Sherlock/John's relationship. It was spot on!

message 29: by Kitty (new)

Kitty | 16 comments Yeah, the look on Watson face was hilarious:-D

message 30: by Annette (new)

Annette (annetteklarsen) | 58 comments When Mary was first introduced, I didn't think I would like her, but she really grew on me and now I'm excited to see how her character adds to the show.

message 31: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments I've just heard that Sherlock won't be back until Christmas 2015!!!!
