No problem--the Dragonflight is just one book in the series. You might want to look up the order of the series and start with the first and give it a look. I really enjoyed the series, especially the first few. Very good dragon books, probably some of the best.

Adva (advak) Hello everyone! New here - to the group and to GR. I read practically everything, doesn't really helps with narrowing down what to read next. Oh, well (explains why my currently-reading list has 10 books in it :p, although, to be honest, only 4 are handled daily).

Well, that's about it, for now. Will be a pleasure to meet you all (I keep writing meet as meat, hmm...)

Hello everyone! I'm Adela, and I am a bookaholic as well. I like all kinds of genres, but recently I'm into detective/thriller books.
I spend most of my free time reading something :)

I think this group is an amazing idea! It's like a big family of bookaholics!

I read a whole range of books, but stay away from Horror. I love a good read and dscussion, and this group looks just right for me.

message 660: by Shay (new)

Shay (icylilies) | 94 comments Hello! I actually just discovered this thread lol,

I like to read just about anything with an intriguing story line or plot. I mostly read young adult fiction, but since I'm in my early twenties, I'm not too sure how long I'm going to enjoy reading about mid/early teenagers, lol but we'll see.

I write as well and love participating in National November Writing Month. I'm hoping to finish and publish within the next three or four years.

I joined this group because this sounds like a pretty awesome book and I was hoping that this would also inspire me to read much more (since I feel like I don't read enough).

Love the games btw!

message 661: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Stewart (haybop) Hi all, just discovered this thread (heck, just discovered this site!) and thought that this definitely sounds like my sort of group.

I'm currently still settling down and doing some studying so my reading time is all of 1 hour before bed (more if I'm lucky)to unwind so I've got alot of catching up to do with my child self that devoured Dracula before I reached 12 (kinda pun kinda intended!)

Now I'm blabbering so back to basics - read pretty much most fiction that comes to hand, happy to be here, happy in general :)

Hey Sarah! Welcome! You're into historical fiction too huh? Romance or thriller? Personally, I read more historical thriller than romance, but I dabble into a little romance sometimes too.

message 664: by Nancy (new)

Nancy I just joined the group and I wanted to say hello to everyone. I love to read and read all kinds of genres, from the classics to historical novels to romance to fantasy. I also read a lot of non-fiction.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and joining in the discussions.

message 666: by Judith (new)

Judith Starkston | 31 comments Hello. I'm Judith. I've been a member of other groups on Goodreads for a while, but only recently found this one. I like the diversity of this group in terms of what you read and the kinds of threads you have. I mostly read and review historical fiction these days, but I love a wide range of fiction. If anyone happens to be interested in the ancient world and fiction set therein, especially Troy, I have a website that focuses on that (www.judithstarkston.com) but on Goodreads I enjoy a variety of topics. I look forward to participating in your discussions.

message 667: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylkinkaid) Hi. I'm Cheryl. I'm new to Good Reads, came here from another booksite that was closing down. I read a wide variety of books but I especially enjoy Biographies and historical fiction.

message 669: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments The moderater hipped me to her site. Which looks like a cool site for sure. It's got a little something for everyone. I like ghost and vampire stories as far as fiction goes. Mostly I like the classic old gothic Vamp stories. Old occult scifi horror like H.P. Lovecraft. I am very old school. But I read modern stuff to. Sookie is the only modern vampire story I truly like.

message 670: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Hello everyone! I've been a lover of books for as long as I can remember, because it was always a big thing in my family. There are books all over the house! I know in my room I don't even have enough room on my bookshelf, so I stack them all over! I love all kinds of books :)

I've just joined GoodReads and came across this group. I am a little picky with books, it has to be something I can get into, but I love all different genres and I'm running out of idea's of what to read next!

message 674: by Alison (new)

Alison (glimmeringgirly) Hey Everyone, I'm Ali! I'm 29 and i live in Edinburgh. I adore reading, and i always carry a book with me (Paper copies though, haven't converted to electronic yet!). I'm a sucker for any book that's supernatural, especially vamps, weres, angels and witches.

message 676: by Sarad (new)

Sarad Pradhan (saradpradhan) | 6 comments I enjoy reading books, and sometime delve into writing too. I was not lucky enough to have books at home when I was growing up. But that didn't deter me. Because of my passion, I started collecting books and reading them. Fortunately, now I have enough books to read and feel happy to buy the one I like.

message 680: by Sarad (new)

Sarad Pradhan (saradpradhan) | 6 comments Sara, I am reading Paul Theroux's The Great Railway Bazaar. I always enjoy reading travelogue. I also read his another travelogue: Ghost Train to the Eastern Star: 28,000 Miles in Search of the Railway Bazaar which is the sequel of the book that I am reading now.

message 681: by Ali (new)

Ali Kennedy (alisonannk) Hi there,

I think I have just successfully joined this group. Although I'm relatively new to goodreads and until now have just been using it to keep track of books I want to buy and have read (too many instances of doublers on my shelves!). Anyway, my name's Ali and I'm from Glasgow. I'm doing my Phd at the moment so I don't get as much time to read as I want but its the thing that keeps me sane!

I used to read horror as a teen and then moved across to crime, thriller then classics. Now I read anything I can get my hands on and have shaken off some crime snobbery I had a few years back. I particularly like books that introduce me to cultures I don't know much about. Books like the kite runner, burnt shadows and mornings in jenin really grabbed me and could be placed in the 'changed my life' category as they made me think and changed my outlook. Always looking for recommendations and good debate about books!

Hope this 'wee' introduction is in the right thread and isn't too lengthy!!

x

Your 'wee' intro is indeed in the right thread and not too lengthy! I enjoyed your brief reading history--it's fascinating how people's choices shift and what catches each of our interest. I'm with you on reading books that introduce new cultures. I like to go back in time to other cultures as well as across the contemporary globe. Welcome to this group. I bet you'll like it here.

message 683: by Ann (new)

Ann (goodreadscomanniegirl) | 19 comments Hi, I am fairly new--I've posted books I've read but just now reviews. Has anyone read "crooked letter, crooked letter" by Tom Franklin yet? just wondering. I am a displaced southerner and tend to enjoy most all southern writers--not all--but most. And I don't exclude those writers north of the Mason-Dixon Line.

message 684: by Anna (new)

Anna Hi everyone,
came across this group and realized that this sounded exactly like something I would enjoy. I'm still getting used to Goodreads and everything but it seems like this group would inspire me to read new books and to encourage me to read more than I usually do which is not a bad thing.

message 685: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi all,
I'll read pretty much anything once, although sci/fi and anything to do with aliens doesn't really do it for me. I've recently developed an interest in fantasy, along the lines of Game of Thrones so if anyone can suggest anything along those lines I'd appreciate it.

message 686: by Nada (new)

Nada Al-Karmi (nadooush) Lord of the rings series, Eragon series, Percy Jackson series or even the Harry Potter series. All fantasy & all good.

message 688: by Eva (new)

Eva (forevabooks) | 2 comments Hi. I'm new. I finished my MA in June 2011 and instantly started reading whatever caught my eye. After classes such as 'War, Suffering, And Violence' (seriously) I craved stories with happy endings. I've become rather open to genres frowned upon in academia. So guide me. Please.

message 689: by Anne (new)

Anne Hello all, I just discovered this group as well. I am a recently retired art educator, and I am really enjoying extra time to read, one of my favorite pastimes! I have an eclectic taste in reading, so I was delighted to find this group on goodreads.

message 694: by Mumbi (new)

Mumbi (Nikita1) | 1 comments Hi. I have just joined this group and out of all the other groups I have browsed through I tthink this 1 suits me best.

I read my first novel in the 4th grade (If Tomorrow Comes - Sydney Sheldon)and I have been hooked on novels since then. I love fantasy, espionage, crime, history (fiction and non-fiction)...the list goes go but i tend to gravitate most towards legal crime and drama and espionage.

I have just finished the 3rd in the Millenium Trilogy (The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest) by Steig Larsson and I loved it but am now experiencing a bit of a drought so I am open to suggestions.

Oh by the way I live in Zambia.

message 695: by Christine (new)

Christine (sybergypsy) Hello, my name is Christine and I'm new to goodreads. I'm an avid reader and generally read anything that holds still long enough. I was formerly a bookseller and I'm finding that I really miss talking to people about books.

Cary (forestercary) Hi everyone, Im Cary. Im new to this group. I basically read everything but Im more interested to read classics lately. Im hoping to meet more book lovers from the other side of the planet.

message 697: by Arni (new)

Arni Jensson (ArniJensson) | 1 comments Hi everyone, since I do not like to be restricted by genre, this group seems like a good place to hang out.

I have not spent much time on this site so my profile is a bit like an iceberg and only the tip is showing. I hope to show more of myself, time permitting.

Of course I love to read in my leisure time!

message 698: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi guys,

I'm Sean. I love writing and reading...basically all things book! Hope you'll check out my stuff.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

CATCH

Is only 0.99c on Kindle for a limited time : )) Enjoy!

A few reviews:

description
"As one of Vince Flynn's first readers, this guy is better" - C.C (Literary Professional)

"Awesome book, well researched and technically perfect, as a SWAT instructor I get picky about the fine points in some books, this was perfect. Absolutely gripping story, couldn't put it down."

"There is never a dull moment in this story.
Bravo to Author Quirk for giving us complex characters to love and hate. As Catch and Hallie are pursued from all directions, their relationship as well as their characters develop. He puts the reader right into the settings and action with his very vivid descriptions. I for one, could not wait to turn the page(or in the case of a kindle - to press the next page button.) I didn't want it to end! The story is nicely tied up at the end, but leaves just that little bit to make the reader hope for a sequel, or maybe even a Catch Harris series."

Jen (bookwormcastle) | 2 comments Hello everyone!

Gina - What She Read (_whatsheread) Goodmorning - from Australia (afternoon elsewhere)

I'm Gina and I just joined this group :) well saying that I am a book fanatic or addict is putting it mildly. I am looking forward to discussions in this group and the monthly reads! I enjoy any genre (as long as it's a good book) but I mostly read YA-fantasy-romance historical-fiction (as well as them all bundled up together or just individually or just a couple together)
