Matthew | 122 comments Forgot to post this the other day. My new short story is released next Saturday so I have posted an exclusive except from the opening ahead of release:

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) Have just downloaded Last Christmas as I enjoyed Bittersweet so much.

Matthew | 122 comments Thank you :D It's only a short story and was meant as an introduction to Father O'Grady more than anything :)

I wrote it in a week, hence there's no twists or major plot ( which seems to be the downside in its reviews, but that's fair:) ).

Hope you enjoy it though. I love writing Whitworth, he's my favourite character :)

Matthew | 122 comments I am running a competition on my website for my next Bumpkinton story. If you'd like to name a character in a short story as well as come up with a scene idea, or even a storyline (it doesn't need to be, just a scene idea is enough) then you can enter. I will pick my favourite and the winners idea will be written into the short story and they will be sent a free signed copy as well as some other goodies.

The closing date is 31st March so I have time to write it. You don't need to have read my Bumpkinton stories to enter, just picture a village and something that might happen there and you'll be fine :)

Matthew | 122 comments End of July, yep. Once I have the novella competed I'll start the first short story. No idea what the first will entail.

I think the 3rd novella will be next year. I'm going to need a break from Bunpkinton after The Bachelor but I may do a Christmas short story

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) .....well I once waited 10 years for the next book of a series (Jean M. Auel, Clan of the Cave Bear), so I think I can wait a while longer! lol

Ha - just remembered something funny. One of my patients was also waiting for the same book in this series. She said to me "I won't be reading the next one". When I asked her why, she said "well, think about it - I'm 94 now" - she made it to 98!!!

Matthew | 122 comments I have relaunched my website this evening with a cleaner, easier to navigate look. It's a work in progress so some things will still change at the moment.

I hope you like it.

Matthew | 122 comments My book, The Bumpkinton Tales, finally made it onto the shelves in Waterstones, Liverpool, UK.

Right next to an X-Files legend!

Matthew | 122 comments If you're an indie author looking to get your book into Waterstones, it can be draining and seem almost impossible.

Recently they stocked my book in Liverpool One so I have written a 'How To' guide which will be over two parts.

It may work or it may not for others and there may be other ways, but for anybody unsure but feel their book can make it into there, then read on and I hope it will be of some help!

Do note, every Waterstones store is different so I cannot guarantee the same end result.
