2014 Harlequin Presents Readers Word Search Challenge

A couple of questions from the collaboration group.
1. Clue: P _ _ _ S _ _ _ (9 letters) The word we're coming up with for this would fit if the 'S' were in a different position. And, it appears to be only 8 letters when you count the 6 blanks and the P & S.
2. Clue: _ _ V _ _ _ _ (7 letters) The word we're coming up with is only 6 letters.
Can you confirm if the clues are correct as far as letter count and positioning?
Thanks!

Hi Katie. Clue number #1 was written incorrectly, but it is nine letters. Thanks for catching it. It should be written as P_ _ _ E _ _ _ _. #2 is seven words. Keep looking. It's in there.
I made the correction in the list above.

Welcome, Jacqueline.
Welcome, Jacqueline.
Hi Danielle
Let me first say how much I have enjoyed doing this word search. You are so kind to come up with such challenges for us. Thanks so much.
Could the "k" possibly be in the wrong spot in B_ _ _ _K_ _ _ L (10 letters) and be nine letters instead of 10?

Oh yes, that is nine letters. Sorry about that. This is what happens when you talk on the phone while doing something else!
I made the correction on the original post. Thanks for pointing that out, Mary.

lol distractions they are horrible lol. but then I am always distracted..

Hi, hopefully this is the last time I'll bug you. We've pretty much got the puzzle licked, but there is a consensus in the group that we cannot find the following clues in the puzzle. Will you, pretty please (*hands over basket of kittens*), look at the puzzle again and make sure you can find these clues. We're thinking maybe a row is missing or a letter or two are wrong.
A_ _ _ _ R 6 letters
_E _ _ R _ 6 letters
_ _ V _ R 5 letters
C _ _ T _ _ _ 7 letters
_ _ V _ _ _ _ 7 letters
C _ V _ _ _ D 7 letters
Also, we are having a problem of too much luck with the clue
_ _ _ E
I've found quite a few 4 letter words ending in 'e' in the puzzle, although I doubt 'acne' would be what you're looking for ;)
Can we possibly get another letter to narrow it down, or will you accept any of those that we can find in the puzzle?
Again, thanks so much for setting this up and sorry we're being such pests.

Hi Katie. In all honestly, I think you guys are over-thinking these words. They relate very heavily to the subject matter of these books. Think about the common themes (and titles used in the line) you see (that we often laugh at because they are so dramatic and over-the-top) and you could pretty much write a list and check off the terms that I used in this word puzzle. I can only think of a couple that might be less common. Have you tried just brainstorming titles and then using that list in comparison?
I would suggest taking a break and going back to it after a few days.
_ _ _ E is a lot easier than you think. If I added a letter, it would pretty much give it away. I will hint that you might have seen it in the puzzle in a different form.
I will give you one more letter here:
R _ V _ _ _ _
And no, I won't accept any others that aren't on the list. :) (I'm thinking that worse case scenario, you still have plenty to work with for the reading part even if you don't get all the terms).
I'm not trying to be sadistic, honestly!

You might find it helpful to browse through the titles on the group bookshelf. Just a suggestion!

Danielle, I still think something must be amiss. I only have 2 Vs on my puzzle and neither one has an R within 2 spaces of it. I have looked many times and even had my husband and sons look. Could there maybe be a column missing? I'm pretty sure I know what words should be there but they aren't.
My 2 Vs are: one on the bottom left- VON, VOL, VIN. the other V is surrounded thusly working out all directions from the V: VEP, VLT, VAS, VSE, VAG, VOB, VYB, VSE again.
So I really think there must be a column missing. I believe that the other ladies are saying that they only have these 2 Vs also.
Thanks, Jacqueline

I think I figured out what's wrong. I was using my master diagram in my word document, but it doesn't compare to the one I posted. Apparently. My puzzle didn't transfer over correctly in the Diagram I posted. I'm very sorry about that! I am working on fixing that right now.

Oh thank goodness! I was beginning to think I was crazy. :-)

Wow. I am so sorry. Here is the correct version. I guess when I transferred it over, it changed some of the letters around.

Okay, lightbulb time. Now I understand what's going on. Apparently, the graphics transfer skewed the letters on the puzzle that I posted, and I unfortunately didn't catch it. Which is why you guys were having troubles, and I wasn't (since I was checking my answers against my key in my word document). Again, I am terribly sorry. Thanks for your persistence in asking questions.
Hopefully, you will find the missing words you had trouble with now!
I hope you will all forgive me and not leave the group because you think I'm an idiot!

Awesome! Thanks Danielle. I figured it had to be some sorta mixup. I think we'll all be fine now. We knew what the words were, we just couldn't find them the puzzle. Thanks again!

Please don't apologize. A little brainstorming didn't hurt me at all. I quite enjoyed it. It made me even more determined to crack the puzzle. :D
I love these Harlequin Presents and I can't thank you enough for coming up with such interesting challenges.
