Marie blinked at the abrupt no, then laughed softly. She leaned up and kissed him gently, then curled up against him again.

Brandon put his head down on her head lightly and sighed. he was so happy to be finally with Marie. just then, an idea came to him. he sat quickly. "Hey I have an idea! for the dance, why don't we pick each other's outfits?? it would be really fun!"

Marie crinkled her nose as she looked up at him. "I dunno...." She knew he'd be able to find something for her that she was sure would be flattering, but she didn't know if she'd be able to do the same for him.

"How hard can it be?" he shrugged. "You know my choice and I know yours." he said to her, already deciding what kind of dress to get her.

Marie laughed. "Alright, alright." She smiled and kissed his cheek gently.

"Yay!" Brandon clapped his hands like a little kid. "What color do you want your dress?"

Marie laughed. "How about... A blue dress? What color do you want your tie to be?"

"hmm, blue." he said thoughtfully then leaned closer to her. "Blue is a beautiful color on you. and I want my tie to blue too. so we can match."

Marie laughed again and kissed his nose playfully. "Alright. Blue it is. This'll be fun." She smiled at him and hugged his arm gently, her attention slowly shifting to the movie once more.

Brandon sighed with Marie in his arms, and looked back at the movie once again. This was probably the best day ever; nothing could ever go wrong.

Marie smiled and rested her head on his shoulder, most listening to his steady heartbeat than anything going on in the movie. She wished the moment could go on forever, rather than it having to end with the movie.

Just then, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." Brandon moved to get the door. A man, only a few years older than Brandon, smiled at him.

"Why, hello little brother." He moved past Brandon into the house. Brandon scowled. He hated his brother. Steven was always a bully, picking on him and his friends since he had nothing better to do. He was a college dropout and worked at a car repair shop.

Uh oh. Brandon suddenly thought of Marie. I can't let her meet my brother. He tried to move as fast as he could, but he couldn't beat his brother to the living room.

Marie smiled and nodded, looking over the couch in waiting for him to return. When the man spoke, she blinked, not realizing that Brandon had a brother. She stood and brushed her clothes straight, then smiled over at him. "Hello. I'm Marie." She held her hand out to him, aiming to shake his.

Steven smiled as took Marie's hand and placed a soft kiss on the back of it. "Please to meet such a lovely lady. I'm Steven." He said.

Brandon scowled and moved up to Marie and took her hand, pulling her close to him. "She's my girlfriend." He simply stated, hoping that would keep Steven away from her.

But Steven just smiled wider. "Well, is that so?"

Marie blushed lightly when he took her hand and kissed it, then even more after his comment. "Oh, I, ah..." Fortunately, she was saved soon after by Brandon pulling her close. She smiled and twined her fingers into his as she looked up at him, then looked over at his brother again, oblivious to the powerplay that was going on in the moment. "Yeah. We just got together yesterday." She smiled and looked up at Brandon, nothing making her happier in that moment than that thought.
