Idk... It doesn't really matter for me. I can join you in starting early if you want. I have to request the book from the library though.
Sorry, I was busy for the past few daysI updated earlier that day on Feb 11, that I was getting the book soon...
So do you want to start now?
I can start this on Tuesday. Since you didn't reply I've started some other buddy reads so I'll need to finish a few before I start this one. Is Tuesday ok for you?
Ok, I started reading this one. I don't understand why Deuce is so excited to be a hunter. I can't really believe she's fearless, she's just a child. Her first encounter with the monsters went way better than I have expected. It also finished before it even started. This story seems kinda rush to me. Witch is better than being bored, but still ^^.How do you find it Winnie?
I agree with a lot of the things you say. I don't understand why she's so excited to be a hunter and I hope it is revealed later on in the book.I felt the first monster scene should have lasted longer. It felt way too quick along with a few other events. Also, I find the characters somewhat lacking personalities...
This is an action packed book, but it lacks the proper writing to make that action enjoyable. So far the characters are left in the second plan. What I dislike so far: I'm not the one to enjoy long and boring descriptions, but I can't agree of a book that skips them completely. I get 1 description per chapter for the 'freaks' (really, I'm 1/4 done with the book and so far I know about them 3 things: they smell like rotten flesh, they have dead eyes...duh and they have razor-sharp teeth.) Now I start to think that our main character can't see them that well because they all live underground. If it's so, this part is not mentioned at the beginning. Where their compound is set and how it looks like. We just get vague descriptions here and there and we just kinda need to imagine the rest ourself. I still don't know how she and Fade look, just that Fade has long black eyelashes... wow, so helpful...
What I like: it's not particularly boring even if it's not that enjoyable either. Does that make sense? XD
Ok, so, I finished this one. I remained disconnected to the characters till the end. I actually started to hate Duce by the end of the book (view spoiler)So yeah, this book was bad. The action managed to keep me going until the end, but I felt no rush of adrenaline from their fights [which always ended too fast and with no considerable loses for the main character]. This author does have some interesting ideas, but she's just no good at putting them on paper. In short, she's not a read writer, just trying at one.
I haven't finished reading it yet, but this book lacks way too much description. Like you barely ever know how Deuce is ever feeling when something happens.
Oh gosh, that's so true. I have no idea how she looks likes along with the majority of everyone else in the book.
Yeah, we get a more solid description of Pearl, Fade's friend, embedded in her jealously (blond, with healthy like skin that has seen the sun, bla, bla). We do actually know about her that's she's pale. So this is a book about the pale girl and the boy with the dark, long eyelashes. *gasp* So artistic! I will discuss this with you if you decide to finish it, but at this point I can assure for you that you won't loose anything if you don't. :(
I've finished reading it. Pearl's description is like the most descriptive thing in the book.
The book had a good plot, but it definitely lacked the description that could have made it better. There was also a lack of character development.
(view spoiler)
Yeah, felt the same way. I'm not going to read the next 2 books because I don't think it's worth it, but if you do read them do let me know how it ends. I must say I'm a little curious if she does end up developing her world in the next 2 books.
I don't think I'm going to read the next few books either. Not really worth the read, but if I do stumble upon the sequel at the library I might read it.

Perfect thanks :)
Gillian, if you can't get those novellas, just let me know and I'll read them myself :) They're all really short. I don't think we can count them for the monthly challenge :p I'm pretty excited to start this series!

yup xD I believe foundation and endurance can be bought as ebook for like $1.50 each and then that online one but the only place I've found secret heart is that anthology.
so yeah just let me know. I'm currently waiting on foundation at my library so if it gets to the 5th then I'll read enclave first and then read foundation as soon as it comes in
I don't mind reading Enclave first, but after that I'd like to read Foundation and then Secret Heart. Or if you can't get Secret Heart we can go straight to #2. If you want to read them in order first then that's totally cool too and we can wait :)
Yeah neither, seeing as Enclave is #1 haha. Awesome :) I'm just starting my current read and then I'll get to this one.
I've actually already gotten Foundation! XD So are you alright with reading this one tomorrow and then getting straight into Enclave?
Sweet :) Oh yeah tomorrow's the 5th for me, not the 4th XD I probably won't be ready for reading this tomorrow, as I've just started my current read today, and I'm on page 12, but after that one I'll be getting into these XD
So maybe if we do just make it the 5th for you and the 6th for me, that'll work XD Sorry for all of this juggling!
Sorry I'm actually going to read Foundation now and a little bit of the first one. It's windy outside and that's where I'm reading and it's on my Kobo so the pages won't blow haha.
