I'm going to start Burial Rites. Of my 8 goodreads friends who read it, 6 gave 5 stars and 2 gave 4 stars, so I have very high expectations! (although I already had those before I saw the ratings)

I finished my final toppler book, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death. I gave it 3 stars but my actual rating would be 3.5. It was nowhere as good as the original by Susan Hill but it was still pretty enjoyable and it had plenty of creepy moments.

I am now starting Kingmaker: Winter Pilgrims which only arrived in the post yesterday but I decided I just had to read it straight away.

I am in post-toppler.. Something. Not sure how to call it.. Back to normal routine. The toppler seems to have kicked me out of my reading slump. I am back reading books for the chunckster challenge, so it is How Firm a Foundation and A Feast for Crows.

I also should finish Neverwhere, stated for April monthly read.

On audio, i am almost done with Locked Rooms and next is The Waste Lands.

I have just finished reading The City and the City which I really liked. During the toppler I read Annihilation and The Gunslinger. So now on to Mr. Mercedes for a buddy read! THEN I really need to start up with my chunksters again!

I read a few pages of The Name of the Wind today. I also keep looking at Black Orchid out of the corner of my eye seeing I read about 20 pages last night in an pre toppler end panic. I think I may need to finish that soon.

I did read 4 books for the Toppler though, which is pretty good for me!

I'm reading A Discovery of Witches, the last one for Mickey's Marchers! I have to admit I expected a bit more of it, but it's still early in the story.

Hm, I thought this book also had a time-travel element in it, but I'm not so sure anymore. I think I'm confused with another series.

I'm reading Lady Audley's Secret for a group read. I like it a lot, only I don't really like Lady Audley (the character), so the parts in which she is main character are not really to my liking.

At the same time I'm reading The Prediction, which I absolutely love! If any of you would like to give it a try: the writer is given away digital copy's for review (he hopes to get at least a 100 reviews by the end of the year). Just check out Darren Sugrue and you can read more...

@Peggy: there is a time travel element, but I can't remember whether it is already in the first book, could be in the second (Shadow of Night). I agree that the start was slow, but it picks up and I ended really liking A Discovery of Witches. The second book was not as good IMHO.

Peggy/Camilla - yes, time travel is involved a bit in A Discovery of Witches but significantly more in the second - Shadow of Night. The third - The Book of Life is due out next month.

I've finished The City and the City and Mr. Mercedes which were both 5 star reads for me. I'm now on to The Troop for a group read in the Stephen King Recommends Group and Sane New World: Taming The Mind which is a library book and I really must get it read and returned!

I am finally getting to reading Water for Elephants for the group read. I am going to start listening to The September Society, #2 in the Charles Lenox series - because I loved the 1st one so much and it just became available from my library.

Glad you like the series Cherie. I've read 5 and all are good though A Stranger in Mayfair was my least favorite.

Ohh, John Lee does Pandora's Star?? I think I'll have to find that, I love John Lee!

I think john Lee does all of Hamiltons books although I'm not sure. His narration is fine but I think years of loud machinery has damaged my hearing to where I'm a little deaf at the tone of his voice. I have an awful time hearing him I've slowed it way down turned it up it just doesn't matter. There's a couple other narrator a I have the same issue with. Must be hearing damage on my part.

That would make sense. My grandfather couldn't hear higher tones near as well as really low ones. He figured his hearing was all messed up from being a welder on the pipelines.

Just started listening to The Black Country (again). The first time around the library audio app wouldn't download it properly but they have since fixed the bug so second time lucky.

I was about 25% of the way through Kingmaker: Winter Pilgrims but have just put it to one side for a while. I think I am in a bit of a reading slump, I haven't really wanted to read much at all this week and I wasn't enjoying the book when I was picking it up. There wasn't really anything wrong with it though, so it must just be my mood. I am going to try and read some other books and then come back to this and give it another go.

I am now starting Vicious which I have heard lots of good things about. Hopefully this will get me back in the mood for reading.

Isn't it funny how this happens, Lisa, especially when you have been on such a great reading streak? One day - and blam - it is gone. I am sure it will pick up for you. It just takes one book and you will be back on again. :)

I started Poison Study last night. It was going to be my original challenge selection, but I had to put it on hold for digital download through the library. It finally downloaded and I was so intrigued by the book blurb so decided to read it as well. So far, I'm enjoying it.

Thanks Cherie! It is incredibly weird how it happens. Silly reading slump! Hehe. Luckily, Vicious is pretty intriguing so far so hopefully it will get me back on track :)

I've fallen in to a slump I think too Lisa. It's taking me ages to read my current read The Troop. I read like mad with my previous read and now I'm having to take a breather. I have a couple audio on the go and a non-fiction but I don't seem to be getting very far with any of them and I still have this months group read to read!

I have to say I have been watching the football which has meant less reading time. Now we're out, I'm wishing I had just read instead of watching! I'm supporting a team that might actually win now! I'm thinking France or Netherlands ;-)

I have been watching some of it too. It's been quite enjoyable so far, apart from our performance! France and the Netherlands look very good. I quite like the look of Chile and Colombia too.

Me too Peggy! I'd have thought loose fitting clothing would be better from a sporting point of view but I'm not going to complain. A few of the other South American teams have them too!

I guess there are quite a few football players who like to show off a bit too, even if it means a little less comfort ;-)

I believe it is a fabric scientifically designed to draw sweat and heat off you, and therefore has to be close fitting.

Although haven't seen these particular shirts. Soccer and I do not see eye to eye.

I don't watch too much football unless it's American style (whole different animal), but tight pants play a major role there. We have a football betting pool at work and most of us know nothing much about the rules. Some of the pool participants (women) have told me they pick teams to win according to the end zone dances and how the players look in their pants. Very scientific. ; )

Haha, I don't know anything about soccer either and don't really care, but boyfriend is a bit more interested so I see parts of it. I base my preferences also on things such as looks, dances, who is the underdog, how much I like the country in general etc.

Yeah its dri fit technology. It fits like spandex but wicks moisture. I have some under armour shirts and shorts its hard to explain how bit works but it does. Itsmmagic. I don't wear my stuff in public only if I'm gonna work out around the house. A fairly rare event
