How do you add a keyword so that your book appears in the correct genre?

If a reader does a genre search in Goodreads, how can you be sure your book will appear in that genre? Do the keywords entered in the Amazon upload automatically follow the book to Goodreads?

I discovered that you can add 'your writing' and include tags and sample chapters, but it seems that you have to make it available for sale on Goodreads. As Goodreads now belongs to Amazon I'm wondering if this still applies. I have my books in Select - wonder where one stands with that now?

I dunno whether this is helpful, but if you fill in the meta data for your book, shouldn't that make a difference? You can go to review, then edit, and somewhere there (I forget exactly where but if I found it, anyone can) is a button marked meta data.

Hi, no, they don't load automatically on Goodreads, you cam add them though.Click on review book (you don't have to review it), you will get the review pop up window. At the bottom, on the right hand, you have a light grey link that says 'add metadata'; click on it and it will bring you to a page where you can put quite a lot, on the genre, style, keywords etc...
