Aya Chouaib | 6 comments help!!! i'm looking for a book that i read a while ago, its about a girl that lives in London i think with her father and her mom is a fashion designer in america and she has a old best friend that goes missing and she discovers this while eating breakfast with her dad because it was in the news paper. Her old best friend was last seen at subway station. she stoped talking to her ex-best friend because she became weird. after searching for the missing girl they sort of declare her dead i think and they have this type of funeral for her were the girl that went missing current best friends huddle up and cry together. the girls ex bestfriend determines to find her and ends up finding her dead body in a sort of maze sewer with a boy i think.

major events i remember:
-looking for the girl in a abandoned house and they think they see her in a corner and they call the cops
-re-acting the train scene so people can remember if they have seen the girl
-the girl thats looking for her ex-best friend begins to talk to her ex-best friend, current friends so they can find her together
-her ex-bestfriend is emo i think

No idea what you book is Aya--but that time line and knowing that it's a YA will help others to eliminate titles that don't fit.

Also, if it doesn't get found right away, wait a month or so and come back and bump this back to the top of the queue so that people remember it when they are out and about.

bookel | 4027 comments You have to search. Was it a new or newish book then? If so search results can be restricted even further.
Try: these results.
Search results for 'su:missing persons' > '1950..2009' > 'Book' > 'Fiction' > 'English' > 'Juvenile'

If that doesn't work, try missing in keywords. Try Google Books Advanced Search. Etc.

More info: School Library Journal:
Gr 6-9 –A missing person's report opens this suspenseful novel set in southern England. Abby Ryzner, a 13-year-old Goth, has vanished, and the last person to see her alive was her former best friend. Emma switched schools and distanced herself from Abby and a fantasy game the two of them had played for years after a traumatizing episode in which she was labeled a freak. With mixed emotions, Emma joins the search. Chapter titles provide a grim countdown of the passing days. Emma feels caught between two worlds–that of her new, fashionable friends and Abby's punk-looking companions who are into D & D. As she begins to hang out with Abby's friends, including Ski, a guy she can talk to, Emma finds herself, once again, absorbed by role-playing games. Knowing Abby was trying to set up a challenging, live-action game, Emma and Ski descend into the bowels of an industrial plant, armed only with flashlights against a scary, pitch-dark maze of tunnels with gurgling pipes. To their horror, they discover the truth about Abby's disappearance.
