A book about a man who disappears out of the blue and the book goes on to tell the story of how the people around him coped!

The book was about a man who disappears after a day at work/out of the blue, much to the shock of his entire family and friends. The guy never comes home. The blurb of the book said something along the lines of "this is not his story, but of the people he left behind." So the book tells how the family/friends coped after he left and how he had impacted their lives. (Also the cover was blue; if that helps anyone!)

I want to say "The Odd Sea" by Fredrick Reiken but its about a teenager disappearing not a grown man. Exact same premise though. Cover was greenish blue with fading picture of the boy disappearing up a misty road.

I'm not too sure that is is The Odd Sea, but I'll check it out because it may just be my bad memory, since the premise is the same. Thank you Sara!
