Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments Karolina read as she walked along the paths. She could always use her peripheral vision to see where she was going, even though as clumsy as she was, she knew she'd fall for certain eventually. But the book was worth it.
It was about a man who travelled through dreams and was able to bring them to reality. He later understands just how much his power can affect people when it starts messing with the government and the way the world works in general.

Banyan walked along the path towards the forest. He was heading over to see his friends. He had just received his assignment the other day and to share the news with them. As he walked, he munched on some sunflowers he had found in his cabin.

message 2857: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments She was walking the opposite way from Banyan, but didn't notice him coming in the other direction. So distracted by her book, she was passing right beside him when she tripped on her shoelace (which for some reason she kept forgetting to tie) and bumped onto his shoulder and fell backwards, eyes squeezed shut and arms protecting her face as the floor rose up to collide with her.

((A bit cliché, but meh.))

Banyan stumbled backwards and gripped his sunflowers tighter, bleating and crushing the half eaten flowers in surprise. "Oh, gods!" he gasped when the girl fell backwards. He knelt down beside the girl. "Hey," he said. "Are you alright?"

message 2859: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments She sat up, brushing her auburn hair away from her face, opening her eyes against the sun and putting up a hand to shield herself from its glow.

"Y-yeah, sorry. It's just... Good book. Very good." As if suddenly remembering something, she searched around for her book and grabbed it, checking it for injuries. She wasn't one to keep her books extremely organized - in fact, the more ripped and battered her books were, the more she loved them. It was strange, but proven right.

"That's okay," Banyan said. "You harm done." Silently, he added to himself, "Well, other than my crushed my snack." He glanced down at the destroyed sunflowers in his hands, a little disappointed. He had a feeling his sister probably arranged them herself, so not only did he not have a snack, but he also was going to be scolded for eating the cabin decorations for almost nothing for recompense.

When he looked back at the girl, she seemed to care more about the book she dropped than herself. "You, um, didn't answer my question," he said. "Are you okay? It looks like you fell backwards pretty hard."

message 2861: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments "Oh, umm, yeah," she stood, cleaning dirt off her clothes. "Probably going to have bruise or two, but that's alright. And sorry for your snack - was it the flowers?"

wallflower | 15660 comments Mod
"Yeah," said Banyan, nodded. "Beautiful, scrumptious sunflowers..." He looked at their crushed remains sadly before perking up a little. "But it's okay as long as neither of us are hurt. There will be delicious flowers." He rose again and held out a hand to help her back to her feet.

"The forest," said Banyan with a smile. "I'm going to see some friends to tell them I about my first assignment outside of camp."

"Ah, that's cool. What's the assignment?" She asked in curiosity.

((Sorry for taking a while to respond. I am away on vacation, so I was out all day yesterday. I probably will be today too.))

Banyan smiled at her. "Looking for demigods in the public school system," he said. "I am starting a bit later than most other satyrs, but I am also a demigod technically."

"Well, Pan is my dad," said Banyan. "Pretty obvious, I suppose." He gestured to his goat horns just sticking out of his curly, brown hair, hairy, goat legs, and hooves with a chuckle. "And my mom is, well, a daughter of the camp director."

Banyan chuckled. "Yeah, I suppose we are," he said. "I usually don't think of that though."

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments "Most people don't. I don't think I like the fact I do. Not a lot, but it's just interesting. Curious. Disgusting sometimes."

Banyan shrugged a little. "Truthfully, when you think about it, everyone is related in some way," he said. "The first man and woman had children, but people forget that, in order for there to have been a human species, those children had no one else to mate with but each other. I guess it just means that we are never alone. There is always someone that we have some type of connection to."

message 2877: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments "Hmm," she smiled. "That's a very interesting way to view things... I like it."

Banyan offered her a smile. "So where were you heading?"

message 2879: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments She shrugged. "Back to camp," she answered, then something caught her attention. She bent over and extended her hand to the ground, letting a little spider on to it and standing back up, continuing as if she hadn't interrupted herself. "I've been out here since morning."

"I see," said Banyan, a little more disappointed than he expected he would be. This probably meant they had to part ways since they were walking in opposite directions. He had hoped to talk to her a while longer. "I guess I should probably head into the forest to find my friends."

message 2881: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments "Oh, I guess," Karolina said, smiling a bit but not moving an inch.

((Think they will work? Also... Should we have them part ways and have them bump into each other again?))

message 2884: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments Karolina was unsure what to do. She didn't want to prevent him from going, but she was enjoying this chat. He seemed like he was too. But she wouldn't force it. He'd have said it if he wanted to stay longer, right? "Well, umm, see you later I guess? I mean, I'd like to become friends with you. If that's alright."

Banyan smiled awkwardly at her. "Yeah," he said, making a noise somewhere between a crack in his voice and a bleat. He cleared his throat. "I mean, yeah. That's alright."

((I kind of want to roleplay him bringing a demigod into camp for the first time at some point. Time-wise, do you want them to bump into each other after? Or ooh! How about Karolina is going to the same school as where he was assigned?! Do you have a demigod that is new to camp; or one that he can find and escort to camp?))

She turned and started to walk away, clutching her book and still looking at the spider on her hand.

Benjamin Roche-Cordova | 1766 comments Brian was walking along the paths of camp. Running his hand through his hair with his right hand, and cutting leaves off the branches of trees with his sword in his left hand. He looked around then sat down on a tree. He pulled his backpack out from behind him and started looking through it.

message 2897: by Emma ❀ (new)

Emma ❀ (emmaisamess) | 1167 comments Pyper was on the other side of that same tree, sketching. She blew a strand of red hair from her freckled face and peeked around the corner of the tree. She saw Brian. Should she say hi or continue on with her business?
She decided she should at least alert him to her presence.
"Hey there," she greeted, rubbing a bit of green paint off her forehead.

message 2900: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Roche-Cordova | 1766 comments Brian grabbed his sword ready to swing it until his brain processed that the voice was a girls. He let go of it turning around facing her. "Oh, hey! Didn't see you there! I almost killed you." Brian joked as he ran his right hand through his hair and smiling at the girl. He immediately closed his backpack up with his left hand.
