ALLEGIANT WAS TERRIBLE. not just the ending. The whole book!!! The plot was slow moving and honestly unorigional. Then what did tris even die for!!! there wasn't even a worthy cause at the end!!! I LOVED the first two. But what happened? what would u have changed? or did u like it? or are you like me and you think the series should have just ended after insurgent?
I agree completely. There was a lot of build up and this whole mystery to what was outside the fence only to have them stuck in another building. Also the multiple perspectives just got really annoying and despite being different characters their voices were practically the same.
Also I feel like her death was really avoidable i mean
if she stole the guns could she not have stolen a bullet proof vest? why even bring it up if she's never going to use it again?
could she not have defended herself? I mean she spent the last book in countless situations without a gun and has had all that Dauntless training. And she wasn't panicking either. So she could she not have attacked David, yanked the gun out of his hands or something? I mean she already had him distracted enough
Or why not just run behind him and attack or something I mean he's in a wheel chair so swerving around 360 would have been difficult and his hands are were on the gun so he would have had to put it down and turn first.
ugh i'm so frustrated

The Edith Prior thing was a major, major cliff hanger. Turns out that the impact of this major cliff hanger on the plot of Allegiant is a. minimal and b. solved in a matter of seconds.
I wish that the "outside the fence" portion of the book was reduced by half, meanwhile the conflict between the factions could have had a more satisfying and less rushed ending - where Tris learns what it means to be truly selfless without dying and where Calab redeems himself. There is no reason someone can't be both selfless and alive.
I can't stand Four anymore. I am not going to even bother with the rest of the short stories coming out. There is no reason for me to read them anyway because Tris is dead.
I wouldn't delete this book, but I think it may have benefitted from more time spent on writing the story and another round or two of editing. Despite this, Tris would have died anyway because Roth had been planning to kill her off for years.

It's a complete waste of amazing potential and quite honestly a crime to the world of YA literature. Can we invent an author jail? Because personally I think Suzanne Collins and Roth both deserve some time.
I can't even fathom her reasoning behind the upcoming Four themed short stories. Personally I would rather go to a convention for Flat Earth Society members (no offense to anyone who believes the earth is flat...) than even glance at one.

I wouldn't have killed off Tris... Made her paralyzed or something. Killing her off was absolutely unnecessary. I agree that the first two were amazing, and Allegiant was a let down... I feel guilty because I'm looking at it right now :) I also liked the book but it was s o o o o o o s s s l l l l l o o o www and everything was explained far too thoroughly!! I have never considered the series ending after Insurgent... Never even thought of it actually... I think if Roth left it there, I would have killed myself... Too huge of a cliffhanger not to be explained.
I had an extremely hard time finishing this book, compared to the first two it was too slow for my taste. It was one of those where I would pick it up and read a few chapters and put it down because I got bored with it! It would have been much better if it weren't so slow and dry. The first two books in the series however were amazing and I could not put them down! I also do not think she should have killed off Tris, there were many other ways she could have ended the book and still have made it great.
I wouldn't delete it....I'd just change almost everything about it. I wanted a good resolution to the series, but everything fell apart as soon as they got outside the city.
The book was way too slow, everyone who has read it has to agree. But I think Tris dying at the end was not the worst thing ever to happen to it. While the way that it did happen was completely unbelievable and just stupid, it did allow her to be with her mom and dad. And yes I want her to stay with Four forever but it was the only slightly exciting thing that happened in the story. And the outside the wall was such a let down. I loved the other two because they offered this other world to escape into, but now the characters are entering back into our world... boring. Plus her mother's back story did not hold my interest at all. Also the ending with Four's mom was completely unbelievable. After all that crap, why would he give her the decision? While I would not delete this book, there are MANY pointless and boring things I would change. Still I guess I can thank Roth for amusing me with the first two, which are amazing stories. Maybe in her next series she will end it correctly.
Killing Tris off was one of my favorite aspects of this book. The ending was not "horrible"; it was brave. It captured Tris's inner personality, and it was a daring decision by the author. Think about it: does Tris sacrificing her brother truly seem like the Tris we have come to know and love? NO. It doesn't. She needed to die. Plus, this captures the essence of war. Not all of the heroes live. Some die. Some ALWAYS die.
However.
The rest of the book
was
awful.
I loved the other books because they were romance-ical and adventurous and adrenaline-y and etcetera. This book got all political and stuff and I truly had to slum through it in order to finish. A real disappointment, but a good resolution nonetheless.

I agree with this COMPLETELY!!! I mean I wish that there was an Abnegation memory serum created just so every one can forget this book and Veronica can try again. Tris shouldn't die. No matter how many "reasons" Veronica has for the death it makes no sense and is uncalled for. This book should come with a warning that says "WARNING: During and after reading you maybe extremely emotional and may take everything thing you loved about this series away." I know a "happily ever after" would pay Tris no justice but couldn't Veronica give us at least a sliver of hope? *This is just my opinion and don't mean to offend anyone with my comments*
