I loved this book, but wonder whether it would be a good book for a book club to discuss.

I think so. There are a lot of topics included in this book, just a matter of deciding whether you want to discuss any of them. For example, it was interesting to read about the Asperbers condition and how Don approached it vs. how Julie did. I'm sure there are some good questions to ask a reader there. If you need help coming up with some discussion questions or topics I would suggest checking out the link below.

Thanks Agne. I looked at those questions. No. 2, however, about describing your own horrible dates, could really lead a group (esp. women) waaay off on a tangent. ;-)
Most assuredly. There are vaious topics to suggest - Asperger's, the relationship he has with his friends, the questionnaire and Rosie herself. This was my favorite book in 2013. It was LOL funny.

I feel like this book has the ability to lead to those kinds of discussion more than others, thanks to the humorous tone and emphasis on dating and issues that surround it.
I would say it depends on what one's book club discusses. I'm not really interested in the women's personal lives, which I believe this book's discussion could lead to. But I really enjoyed the book and am recommending it to many. (I don't think every book I like is a book club book!)
Thanks for your comment, Anita. I decided to go ahead and pick it for my book club pick. I am sure everyone will enjoy it, and if we don't come up with anything to discuss, we can have more wine and chat. We're good at doing that, too.
We just did this book on Feb 19 in my book club. (all women) We all loved it and had plenty of discussion including our own little rituals and minor OCD behavior.
Glad it worked for you. Sometimes I find book club better when we don't all love the book! Now I am trying to think of my OCD behaviors. Is it possible not to have any????
message 11 AnitaBelieve me it is a rare occasion when we all love a book. I agree that our best discussions are when we disagree.

Oh, Susan, I don't even recommend books anymore to my groups, because I'm the only one who likes them. Obviously, something is wrong with me. The books I know my group would like aren't the books I want to discuss, I find.
