Lindig, when you go to the combine page it lists all of the books. Each combined set has a single title (in bold) with a checkbox next to it and all of the books in that combination listed under it. If you need to combine two (or more) books, you check the box next to each uncombined version, then hit the "combine editions" button found at both the top and bottom of the page. For example, if I look at Nora Roberts I see something that looks sort of like:
( ) Born in Fire
Born in Fire (Born In trilogy #1) (Paperback)
( ) Born in Fire (Born In trilogy #1)
Born in Fire (Born In trilogy #1) (Mass Market Paperback)
Born in Fire (Born In trilogy #1) (Mass Market Paperback)
etc...
The first listing of Born in Fire is by itself, while it is followed by a larger listing with many editions. To combine, check the box to the left of each main entry, then hit the button. Does this make sense?
Yes, it does. I remember tentatively trying to combine two editions a few weeks ago (my first attempt) and I expected to get something just like that. What I got was a page of books, a dialogue that sound "must check more than one book" (words to that effect), and no check boxes. So I backed out.I'll try again.
Wait. I realized I need more minutiae. Do I search for "Born In Nora Roberts" which brings up all her titles with Born In. And then I click on what?"Combine" only shows up on a specific title, I think.
Or do I do a search on Nora Roberts and find the Born In books there?
I think I'm chasing my tail.
Lindig, I usually go to the author's profile page and click on "combine editions" from there. You'll get a list of all their books in reasonably good alphabetical order. Some might have , The or , A and some A ... or The ... , etc. and you can check mark the boxes of those you're sure should be combined but are not combined. Does that make sense? Edit: Oh, and after you've check marked the boxes, you need to click on one of the combine editions box; they're at both the top and bottom of the page.

I did it, I did it.Michael, I found the combine page for Nora Roberts by trying Lisa's method of going to the author profile. However, I didn't notice the "combine editions" there and went to the "more books by" link, which gave me the full list of her books, which I sorted by title.
Then I noticed the "combine editions" link, which put the little boxes in front and I found the two I was looking for and combined them!
I feel so powerful.
Thanks to both of you. Sometimes I just need my hand held.

If I bring up the one with the most editions, I can see the "combine" link. But then it tells me to select more than one book to combine and I don't know how to select the other edition.
Help. I just need to have things spelled out in words of one syllable, please.
