Question about mortal instruments and infernal devices

There is tons of charecter development. There is lots of sarcastic humor, and they are fun to read. I would read the mortal instruments first, then the infernal devices.

Clockwork Angel is obviously the first book you want to read.
Then Clockwork Prince.
Then Clockwork Princess. The epilogue of CP2 takes place during City of Heavenly Fire, so maybe it'd be best if you read CP2 and left the epilogue until after CoLS.

I think after they ascend, they can choose any Shadowhunter name, right? I don't have the Codex, but the only ones I've known to ascend are through marriage (Sophie ascended and later married Gideon, thus her becoming a Lightwood.)

I would read The Infernal Devices first but it really doesn't matter much except for City of Heavenly Fire.
And yes this book has a lot of fighting actin and humor.
Hoped it helped:)

So yeah, the question is, does the series get better after the first two books or am I just weird??? Please let me know, because I'm wondering about getting the rest of the series for Christmas but now I'm not quiet sure if it's a good idea. Thanks!!

Read on, and definitely have a read of The Infernal Devices. By the angel, that trilogy changed my life!

I loved both series, nonetheless.

Yes it is but it was on the infernal devices too

I think they get better as they go. City of Glass was my favorite.

It totally is. Though there are things I Luke about each one CoG is best over all.

You can read The Infernal Devices before you read The Mortal Instruments if you want to. It doesn't really matter considering they take place so far apart. Personally I'd recommend reading TMI first then TID, I think TMI goes into more detail on the mythology and the world building. But it's up to you.
