Stuart Land (stuartland) | 27 comments Hi hard-working librarians. Happy Holidays! I hope my requests aren't too difficult. I'd like one of my covers updated: Crossing the Double Yellow. Along with that, can you tell me how to make my newer covers (like Shadow House) show up on my profile page, or main page, whatever it's called. I've tried "switch to this addition" but it doesn't really switch it.

Another problem is that there are two books linked to me that aren't mine, but have my name. They are: The Blond Tuareg, and The Linobambaki Prophecy. This man uses my name a pseudo-name. I've contacted him in the past to desist on using my name, but obviously he hasn't stopped. People are buying his books thinking he is me. There must be something Goodreads can do about this.

Zadignose | 43 comments I dealt with the issue of the two books not authored by you. They are now associated with an author by the same name, entered with two spaces between names. You can see this profile here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

They will no longer be associated with your profile.

I don't know anything about whether it's a pseudonym. The author could well have the same name as you. There are a remarkable number of authors in the GR database which require disambiguation for having the same given name. Even if it is a pseudonym/pen-name, the author may have selected it when publishing his books before being aware that someone else was publishing under the same name.

Zadignose | 43 comments Okay, as for the covers, I had to review the guidelines. I'm not an author, so I haven't done this myself, but as you are the author of a book, you can select the edition that has the cover you want to display as the default. Once that's designated, that's the one that will show up in searches, and will be first displayed on your profile. To do this, you must select the edition you want, and "edit" it:

"To use this feature, go to the edition you wish to set as the default, and click the "edit" link. On the edition's edit page there will be a link on the right side, about mid-way down the page and just before the link to refresh stats, to "Set this book as the primary edition for this work". "

If you want to "update" the cover for your book Crossing the Double Yellow, you will need to ensure that there is a new edition, or create one, using your new cover. Then select that one as default edition. You will not be able to remove any earlier edition that had the old cover if it has ever been distributed in any form to any reader, or if it has been added and reviewed.

How to set the default edition.

Stuart Land (stuartland) | 27 comments Huge thanks, Zadignose and Cam. Everything looks great!

One more quick question, please. There are two of my book showing up at the bottom of my page that have no covers, but are repeats of the books above. If they serve no purpose, can they be taken off?

Happy Holidays to you both.

The real Stuart Land (or maybe Slim Shady :-P )
