This month the newsletter is early! Hard to believe, isn't it? But I've got exciting news about an upcoming event that I wanted to tell you about as soon as possible, so that if you'd like to attend, you have plenty of time to make plans.
Coinciding with the release of DREAMFEVER on Tuesday, August 18th--yes the on sale date has been moved up a week!--we'll be releasing the CD Bloodrush: the Official Fever Soundtrack. You'll find Little Lamb and I am Not Afraid on it, plus many new Fever-inspired songs, including one that breaks my heart every time I hear it. There's a bunch of other fun exclusive stuff on the CD as well, including background on the series, a booklet with deleted scenes and personal notes, photos of us working at the recording studio, lyrics, and a whole bunch of other extras. We'll be telling you more about Bloodrush, and giving you snippets of the songs as the release date approaches. I think you guys are going to love it! We began working on the CD nearly two years ago in a recording studio in Naples and are wrapping up the work at a studio in Atlanta.
Why am I telling you this now? Because one of the songs on the CD has a chorus at the end and we need A LOT of people to sing/chant it! As we were talking about who we wanted to have come into the studio with us, we realized it was...you guys! Here's the formal invite:
The song is called Taking Back the Night, and it's the official sidhe-seer anthem. Don't worry if you're not the greatest singer, we're not looking for perfection. We're just looking for a bunch of crazy Maniacs who want to meet up for lunch, talk books and sign some, and have a blast in a recording studio singing/chanting/shouting the chorus. This isn't a paying gig, LOL, but everyone that attends will receive an Honorary Inductee SSI badge, and all singers will be credited at a webpage dedicated to the event, with tons of photos. We'll be using a few of the photos on the insert in the CD, and I think I've managed to convince Neil to play the song that breaks my heart for everyone that attends (and it might just have a spoiler or two in it:)
We need an accurate count so we can plan accordingly, so if you plan to attend, you must RSVP to manager@karenmoning.com and let Leiha know. If, before the event, your plans change, please let us know that as well.
FYI, I recently posted Chapter 5 of The Lady Lies at my blog (http://e2ma.net/go/2147291832/1846308...) , plus a few photos of Moonie and some stunning blood lilies. The answer to the contest we posted in the last newsletter is there, too.
Romantic Times Bookclub Magazine is doing an article on the Fever series in their August issue, and is polling for questions that I will select from to answer in the article. If you have a burning question you'd like to ask, post it on RT's page here (http://e2ma.net/go/2147291832/1846308...) . But hurry, we're choosing questions asap.
And now, I know what you all really want--the excerpt--we're trying something a little different this time.
