Lisa (lisa928) | 96 comments I am a librarian who has this series in my shelves. Recently book 1 changed from "Blurred Lines (Blurred Lines, #1)" to "The Wrong John (The Wrong John, #1)". I don't want to simply undo it because it was changed or even for the reason the series name is not consistent, but it looks wrong. I looked through the log and it seems someone combined books, but I cannot figure out why.

Any suggestions or help in figuring out what happened?

What happened is that the two books - Blurred Lines and The Wrong John - got combined. It appears that they are the same book with different titles. Because the author has not set a default edition, most likely, the most popular edition becomes the default.

Lisa (lisa928) | 96 comments Ah thanks that makes sense. The question is then do I leave it as is? I have read the librarian handbook but situations like this always make me leery when I see so many comments about leave originals as is. Do I leave the book title and just change the series name? Or can I also change the book name note "The Wrong John" as the original title?

Monique (kadiya) | 1097 comments Lisa,

I'd leave it as-is. The Blurred Lines series name is not in the title field, but it doesn't have to be. You can't change the title itself. That is the title of that edition.

It is connected to the Blurred Lines series properly and I am not convinced that the other series name is wrong. There have been other books that start multiple series.
