Written most likely mid 90s, no later than 1999. Purple cover (I think). It was about this woman who lived in a society that eschewed personal touch. I think there was a revolution or some sort of war on her planet, and she had to leave. She ended up on another planet and falls in love with the king/barbarian. The only scene I really remember is where she is spending the day in the armoire because she mad her barbarian so mad, he left her with out release and the breeze was torturous. It may have been called something along the lines of the barbarian's lady.
