January: Let it Snow! Mini Challenge
@Jannene No problem!!! and yayyy!! Congratulations to you for completing the challenge! Thank you and happy reading! :]
Completed #4 - Long book - Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. 858 pages. While I appreciate the immense work and overall plot, the writing was rather stiff. I had difficulty connecting with any of the characters. I can understand why the novel would appeal to men but prefer my fiction with a bit more emotion. Overall, not bad. 3 stars1/3 (changed my challenge from 4 to 3 books)
Update: 2/4 Completed
2. Whiteout. A whiteout is a weather condition where visibility is severely reduced due to snow. Read a book with a predominantly white cover.
Just finished
. Going to work on All Snowflakes Have 6 Sides next :)

I'll update your progress and your goal :)

I avoided reading it for this long because of the hype, I'm really not big on reading books just because they are popular. I enjoyed it more than I expected to though. I'm actually surprised by how many people rated it really poorly on this site, not a lot of love for this book! Lol there were definitely some parts that were a slog to get through but overall I enjoyed it. It had some funny bits and I always enjoy learning about other cultures. I got the travel bug when I was little and haven't been able to go anywhere for about 6 years now...good thing I always have books to take me where I want to go! :)

Lilac, I loved Blindness! I hope you enjoy it. I have read several books by the same author since then. If you like it, there is a sequel called Seeing.
Just completed my fourth and final book! A book published in the 1940s: 1984. Technically it's a re-read for me but it's one of my favourites and it has been a while since I read it last.

Hey all! Sorry I haven't been up to date with my challenges in the past weekI just started a new semester of classes in new topics that are unfamiliar to me, so I was busy getting adjusted and acquainted with that and had been unable to read much less actively check Goodreads.
I will begin the updating process now and will be much more available as the month of January closes :]

Good luck on the rest of your challenges.
Just completed my selection for #2 Whiteout - The Divorce Papers: A Novel by Susan Rieger. I really enjoyed this book! It was not a frivolous read, but due to the clever formatting, it was also not really heavy either. The author presents the book as if the reader was going through the papers in a divorce file, pleadings, memos, e-mails, etc. Through these rather impersonal writings, the reader can delve behind the words and see what is happening without it being spelled out. Really smart! Definitely worth reading, for lawyers and non-lawyers alike! Thanks, goodreads giveaways! 4 stars 2/3

Congrats Scarlett! :)
I finished my second book for this challenge. 3. All snowflakes have six sides. Read a book with the number 6 in its page number. (For example, The Golem and the Jinni has 486 pages): Robert Jordan - A Crown of Swords.
My copy has 856 pages (didn't count the glossary).
2 down, 2 to go.
Mark me down for 3 of 4 completed now. Just finished my predominately white covered book, The No Asshole Rule by Robert Sutton. One more to go!
I think I am going to have you update my challenge number to 3. I have already completed two and will hope to complete the third in the next couple of days. If there is a quick read that is 500+ pages I am willing to try to do #4. But since that is unlikely I think I will settle for three. I read two 400+ page books already this month don't think I have the energy for another long one.
