Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Oh Man Breaking Dawn is my favorite out of the series, New Moon was a depressing book, but I loved the Movie.... I am on team switzerland. I think both Edward and Jacob are yummy and want them both.

I love twilight and can't wait for the next two movie's to come out. And the Twilight madness has somewhat died down, at least until eclipse comes out in theaters.

And The Edward version will never be finished because of it being leaked on the internet.

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Seriously? Blah. I agree with Dawn. Reading a story about Carlisle would be way more interesting. I remember when she said that she was interested in this. But I want Midnight Sun damn it!

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) me too I started reading the few chapters that are online but I have a hard time reading large amounts of text on my computer.

Jess | 3721 comments I want to know when her sequels to the Host are coming out. I keep hearing there are going to be two, The Seeker and something else. But where are they?

message 55: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) IDK, I haven't heard nothing on them, didn't even know there were going to be sequels.

message 56: by Eve (new)

Eve Langlais (evelanglais) Loved the series, but hated the way poor Jacob got jerked around. I found it intriguing that it ended up being, for me, one of the best love stories I'd ever read since it didn't really much sexual tension or acts. I'm usually more of a don't-close-the-bedroom-door type readers. I am looking forward to reading her next books just to see if she can suck me in like she did with Twilight. And if she had to do another story, I say Alice.

message 57: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I loved the love triangle in these stories to have it end up the way it did, it made everyone happy.

Would be cool if she did a novella on all the other characters.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I agree with Jess - I'd much rather her come out with sequals to The Host! I'd love to hear the story behind the characters that we meet at the end of the book! (don't want to give anything away)

The Seeker and The Soul. I haven't heard ANYTHING about this. But I have a feeling that she's trying to keep a low profile since the Twilight buzz.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Meyer actually came out with something new that I was interested in! I was at the book store today, wandering, looking for anything new that caught my eye. And I guess that they finally decided to publish The Host in paperback. Now I have it both in hardcover and audio book so I just about walked right by. Then I saw something on the cover that said "bonus chapter"!

Spoilers for The Host - The chapter was written from Mel's point of view and started right after Doc put them to sleep in order to remove Wanda. So basically, the chapter was Mel waking up, assuming that Wanda is dead, and her having to deal with Jared and Ian. For a single chapter, and trying to add something to a story that I really love, it was very enjoyable! Now, I have no intention of buying the paperback just for that one chapter. But if you don't already have a copy of the book, now's a great time! Otherwise if you do already have a copy, go to the store and read the chapter. It's only 18 pages long, so a quick read. But fun!

Jess | 3721 comments Oh that's interesting, I may have to head over there to read it. :) Thanks!!!

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments I love the twilight series and my favorite book was Breaking Dawn. I would have to say that I'm a Edward fan.
The way she ended all the books was to were you had to read the next one. A couple of the books I think that I actually made a special trip to buy the next that day because I had to know what happens. I liked the end of Breaking Dawn but my feelings wouldn't be hurt if she wrote another addition to see what happens with Jacob and all.
I also read Host and I didn't enjoy the story as well as the others but I think it was a good story.I think what happened was it couldn't stand up next to her other novels. If she had only written Host I think I might of really liked it.

Jiaka1981 Winfield | 7 comments why make a book about bree? why not Leah? I feel like Leah is the only character in the book without any closure

I agree with you. I think there could be lots of different angles she pick from for another book.

message 65: by Mai (new)

Mai (maisydaisy) Has anyone read her new novella?

Danielle (Smiley1881) | 159 comments Maeve wrote: "Has anyone read her new novella?"

Are you referring to Midnight Sun? I haven't heard anything about a new book. But I would love to know if she did:)

message 67: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Are you talking about 'the second short life of Bree Tanner' of something like that??

message 68: by Mai (new)

Mai (maisydaisy) Yeah, that one! I haven't read it. I'm not really a Twilight junkie anymore, but I thought it sounded kind of cool. Have you read it?

message 69: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) No, I haven't read it. I'm not sure if I should or not either. I mean, I totally enjoy Twilight and that world... but I think that the hype has been wayyyy over done and it's kind of killing it for me.

But knowing me I'll probably end up reading it :D Lol.

message 70: by Angela (new)

Angela (angieerickson) | 33 comments I'm a little embarrassed to say I loved the series. Well, obsessed is more like it. Why am I embarrassed? I found the writing poor and Bella was annoying. But I connected with Bella and found myself lost in her world. I loved Edward and am definitely TEAM EDWARD.

I wasn't a fan of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner or the First Chapters of Midnight Sun.

Movies vs Books
Emmett seemed an after thought in the movies.
Bella wasn't nearly as selfish and immature in the movies and Jacob was more mature, kind, and loving.

message 71: by Jacy (new)

Jacy (jazabell) | 214 comments Okay...does anyone know if the Host is actually going to be a trilogy? In several interviews she's said that it's intended it to be and that she has bits and pieces written. But then she also says if she continues it will be a trilogy. Has anyone see or heard anything that confirms that it is actually going to happen?

message 72: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Jacy I have not heard anything out of her in a long time.

message 73: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_anne) | 253 comments I haven't heard anything about more Host books. Though, I did just see a couple of things about the movie that will be out next spring...

message 74: by Jacy (new)

Jacy (jazabell) | 214 comments They have announced that there will be three Host movies. Which is why I was wondering if she was actually writing two more books. Like I said on an interview she said she "has 10 years to write them before they write themselves" but at the same time evaded the hole "are you writing sequels for "The Host".

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) I think shes too busy arguing about rights to "Fifty shades" trilogy at the moment, from what I understand, Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades #1) by E.L. James To be doing much else.

message 76: by Jacy (new)

Jacy (jazabell) | 214 comments I didn't know what "Shades of Grey" was, so I googled it. Is she trying to remove it from shelves as not an original work because it started out as Fan Fiction? I'd never heard of it until it was posted here. I don't read fan fiction often and when I have I wasn't impressed much. That doesn't mean the stories aren't good or anything they just aren't for me. Has anyone read the trilogy? And is it really just Edward and Bella with different names and situations? Well I hope Stephenie gets back to writing...it would be a shame if Twilight Saga and The Host was all she ever writes.

Fifty shades of grey was originally fan fic , written by one of our members on here, and was called Master Of The Universe. It is actally nothing like Twilight, and is about real people, in a BDSM situation.
I really surprised you hadn't heard of it! Its been all over the news and shows through USA.
I, like you am not a fan of FanFic and had not read any as such, because the small amount I had taken a look at just didnt do it for me. I still haven't read MOTU either. ( Edward and Bella are the names used in MOTU) but they have all been changed for Fifty It is an amazing read, even if you are not into the BDSM.
Here is a list of twi fan fic books
http://twifanfictionrecs.com/publishe...

and a link to another group, who have a lot of discussions going on at the moment re Fifty.

http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/5...

From what I can gather, SM was happy for EL to write and release MOTU, but now that it has gained so much popularity in its own right, and is to be printed and released, by a publisher, I understand, she now feels she is entitled to a cut of the profits!

Maybe she isn't going to write more books? Not all movies come from books. They may just be going to carry the general story on from the one book? It could be done that way, because the main stage has been set. Loved The Host, so totally different that Twilight, but loved them too.
