I loved both and can't wait for the NEXT ONE. I'm not sure which I like more.

The first book is my favorite but The Runaway King is a close second. I am so looking forward to The Shadow Throne in 2 months. I know it will be just as great as the first 2 books.
I enjoyed this book, but not as much as The False Prince. I am looking forward to The Shadow Throne with high expectations. Most trilogies are just one book. I mean how many young kids/adults would buy and read a 900-1200 page book. But they will read 3 separate books that are only 300-400 pages. Its all about marketing. As an example, LOTR was written as one large book.
Ok guys lets take a few moments to breathe IIINNN.....and OOUUUTTT....good. good. Now-- to set the record straight, they are both too amazing and filled with a crap load of awesomness that one could never be concievably better than the other. Ever. Its an honest mistake if you thought for one mad empty second that one was better. Its ok. You're forgiven.
Well, I don't know about one being better than the other, but I think I enjoyed the first one more. The second book was good, but I liked the atmosphere in the first one better.
Ok I'll give you that one;) there was definitely more political intrigue and tension in the first one that I enjoyed a bit more as well.
Thanks!;^)>bows comically<
Political intrigue and tension are definitely more my thing! And instead of getting into the debates between regents, we got into how to become a pirate
>sigh<
But you know, shaymond made an interesting point; it is a trilogy, and as such, it is meant to be one continuing story, rather than several installments in a saga. So, if you look at it as acts one, two, and three in an epic play, you will have a better understanding of how the story and pacing work. When you watch a movie or see a play, you don't section it off into three acts and then make people choose which act is better. You take in the whole movie or play at once and either loathe it, like it, or love it. It is a little different with books because in this case, we are unable to take in the whole trilogy at once, so there is still room for debate, but it is not really fair to favor one act over another. Of course, enjoying one more than another is an entirely different story!
Oh...well, thanks. I just have too much time on my hands, I over analyze life and everything in it. But it is kind of fun to consider all the different angles from which one could look at something. I was just springboarding off shaymond in this case though.:D
