I'm going to copy over what we have in the BBC thread originally as well:
- making your blog mobile/smartphone/tablet friendly
- making the most of conferences (ALA/BEA/NAIBA)
- organizing events offline in your area
- Juggling life and blogging
- Social Media--when is enough enough?
- how to handle ads/affiliates/sponsored posts etc
- Interaction with other Bloggers
- separate panels for "new" bloggers and "veteran" bloggers
- Blogger to Published Author
- Ethics Panel
So here's the plan - I want as many of you to weigh in on what you want most to see as possible. Rank the ideas, suggest how to tweak them, tell me I'm being an OCD crazy loon pot and I should seek help--whatever you think will be beneficial.
This weekend I'm going to put a post up on my blog so if possible also pimp that out so we can get as big a survey base as possible (I'll leave it open for two weeks, that should be plenty of time for people to be weight in).
Obviously the Blogger 101 track and the Veteran Blogger Track are the big Ticket ideas and something we all agree we want to see happen so i'll focus most of my towards those two ideas until we have a better understanding of what folk would like to see.
Now granted we don't know the actual line up of panels yet for the Convention, so its entirely possible some of our ideas WILL be addressed regardless. I think its important to speak up however. Especially with BEA playing merry go round in the cities starting in a couple years, if they plan on continuing BBC, they should do so in a way that draws people back year after year instead of going one year and sodding off the others.
Also please please please think of folk you want on these panels. Hannah suggested Damaris (of Good Choice Reading) as she organizes big events offline and is a freelance publicist to boot. I'm hoping to ask Vania (of VLC Productions) to weigh on at least one panel. They don't have to be "big names"--if you follow a blog that is downright AWESOME, but isn't one of those "lofty" tiered blogs, big frakking deal! Suggest the person and we'll see if we can fit them somehow. See a newbie blogger who is hitting all the right marks? DEFINITELY suggest them so we can coerce them.
I figure we should go big and show BEA/ReedPop/BBC what attendees like us want/how far we will go to make this conference the best we can.
phew. okay I'm done now. Back to my day job!

Lexie,I just have to tell you how awesome you are! The organization of our ideas is fantastic. I don't have anything to add at this moment, but if I think of anything, I'll add it here. Thanks so much!

@Krista and michelle - thank you ladies! I have the first draft completed (insofar as the different blog level tracks). I'm going to refine it this weekend as I have so much time :)
@Amy - I'm sure any of us would be happy to answer any questions you have, or point you in the right direction for useful resources. Send me a PM and I'll see if we can keep you motivated to remain in thecultcommunity with us!

Lexie is going to formulate a formal proposal to submit, but wants ideas and feedback from everyone. So ... Ideas? Suggestions?
What would you like to see? Who would you enjoy hearing speak? And speak about what?
Personally I would like to see a section for the newbie bloggers (maybe a Blogging 101 course) and then another for the bloggers who've been around the book block a few times.
