Shinigamiluv | 2 comments Back in the 90's I read a weird children's novel (at least I think it was, it was in our classroom) about a cat who used a typewriter? I think there was even a cat on the cover typing away. Anyway. She was a writer or something and she lived with a family of humans (it was a talking animal book, the kind where humans don't know that animals can talk and all that) and this typing cat had an ongoing war with a mouse or rat that lived in her house/barn and his army of mice/rat things and near the end of the novel they had a battle royale out in a barn which the cat won. Weirdly, I think the book might have taken place in Sweden? But probably not. And I seem to remember the cat was named Annabelle or Amelia or Annaleise or Amalia or something like that. I saw the description of Archy and Mehitabel but that doesn't seem quite right since that seems to be mostly poems but this was a novel. Good luck figuring this one out!

Serendi Definitely not archy and mehitabel, though that's fun in a *very* different way.
