Sarah Oh, I just remembered. Sometimes I like to read in the kitchen when I have to stir something constantly. I usually like to have a book by my stove top cuz it helps the time pass.

Jacqueline (missjackieann) I will read just about any place I can. However, my all time favorite place is on my bench on my patio. It is quiet and I am surrounded by plants and birds who come and eat from our bird feeder.

I do think that reading outside gives a different feeling than reading inside.

Lori Walker Sarah, I've hopped up onto the kitchen counter to read while I'm cooking. It's actually pretty cozy up there.

You kitchen readers be careful, especially if using a gas stove! :)

Sonja (crvena_sonja) | 78 comments Since I've been out in San Jose for the last week I've taken to reading on the balcony at my boyfriend's apartment. I took a comfy armchair out there last week and have been drinking my morning cup of coffee while reading a book in the sun! California is always sunny AND the perfect temperature I don't know how I'm going to handle going back to DC after this...

Kelly | 308 comments Raquel that's my kind of job! I wish my boss didn't mind me reading every once in awhile.

I usually read on my bed at night or on my couch. I haven't been able to find a good spot outside my house where I'm not distracted, and I get distracted very easily!

Natanya (vraisemble) | 255 comments Well it finally decided to do the whole "summer" thing out here in Seattle, so I got the pleasure of spending a few hours reading while lying outside on the grass at a park. Also great for people (and puppy!) watching. :)

message 108: by Jess (new)

Jess Lately I've been reading books so quickly (thanks to reasons I mention below) that I've been carrying TWO with me. My shoulders and back are aching at the thought.

Because I don't have a car, I've been taking the bus to work. That means a city bus from my suburb to the main bus terminal in the city, then taking the University shuttle from Eastman to my campus. Lots of time waiting for the bus and waiting to transfer. I don't, however, read on the bus because I get a mean headache. I also have weekends off, so I'm pretty much always reading these days.

Lori Walker I'm really excited! I found out yesterday that I can bring my personal reading, as long as the cover isn't to lurid, to work to read while I'm just hanging out in the gift shop, which will be a good 3 hours a day. Of course, I'll have to check people in and sell them stuff, but at least I won't be staring into space when nothing is going on.

Jess Lori, that's awesome! :D

Lori, who decides if the covers are lurid? :) I would totally be offended if I walked into a store and saw the worker reading a book with the Yankees on the cover! Just kidding of course. :)

message 112: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Well, for example, my copy of Tropic of Cancer, which (unnoticed by me at the time of purchase) has a bare boob on the front cover, would not be appropriate for work. I imagine anything depicting sex, nudity, or has any curse words would not be OK.

and the Yankees!

Oooo, I am sure there are some type of Dr Suess covers. That would be great. Cat in the Hat, but inside is actually something sinful. :)

message 116: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Kimberly, That's what one of my co-workers said she did. More to keep people from bugging her about what she's reading than to hide her book cover, but still.
