Emily | 2 comments No tris shouldn't be blamed. She would've died otherwise and she had to do what she had to do.

message 52: by Mickie (new)

Mickie (okayokay72) | 28 comments No. Christina has every right to be mad. But without Tris killing Will, it would then be reverse. Will alive and Tris dead oh and the whole Abnegation Faction eliminated as well. So Tris saved not only herself in shooting Will. But I was terribly sad for Will. He was a nice and genuine guy… especially to Christina.

message 53: by SusyFuentes (new)

SusyFuentes | 3 comments No... I just wish there was another posibility other than having to kill him :'(
It shocked me to know he was dead.... He was really one of my fav characters!!!

message 54: by Piper (new)

Piper Winchester (Randomness1818) no, because he was under the simulation and would've killed Tris and Tris was to fast to think of a better way to get around him..Therefore, its not her fault.

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, because she didn't have to shoot him dead! She could've shot him in the leg or arm so she had enough time to escape without getting killed or killing Will

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

No wonder why Christina was mad because it's obviously Tris's fault that Will is dead.... It didn't have to be that way but it is!

message 57: by Madie (new)

Madie Prendergast | 11 comments No, she had no other choice. Maybe she could have shot him in the leg or something but that may not have stopped him from shooting and killing her. If Will had to kill Tris i dont think he would.

Ameera Madie wrote: "No, she had no other choice. Maybe she could have shot him in the leg or something but that may not have stopped him from shooting and killing her. If Will had to kill Tris i dont think he would."

u really dint undrstnd the book properly. she was upset her mom just died in front of her eyes and also she cudnt think at tht moment lyk oh ok so i'll just shoot him in the leg.she dint even realise it was him only after shooting she knew wat she did

message 59: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahjanenatalie) | 11 comments Yes and no. Tris should and could of shot Will in the hand, arm, or leg which wouldn't of killed him, but stopped him from killing herself. Even in a situation like that after seeing her mothers death she should of been able to realise not to shoot someone else she cares for to see them go down and to loose two people.

message 60: by Ameera (new)

Ameera honestly all those who said yes go read insurgent and then when u reach the part where cara talks to christina on how she forgave her u'll realise yy its not tris's fault

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

yes, even if it were if her defence There's always another opcion like shoot him in the leg or something

message 62: by Angie (new)

Angie | 18 comments Well no because it was self defense and karma got her back

message 63: by Clary (new)

Clary (clary_ruby) | 14 comments No. It was an act of self defence, and after that, she was horrified and felt really bad, It isn't like she just shot him and went 'Oh well, who cares.'

message 64: by Gabbers (new)

Gabbers I don't think so because she had to shoot him or she would have died. If she had let Will shoot her, then she would not have been alive and there would be no series.

message 65: by Makayla (new)

Makayla | 3 comments She was being pulled from both sides; saving her family or saving her friend(friends)She has to find her family but get trapped, she knows she can't do anything to help him and if she tries to run away she'll get shot, never being able to get to her family... Leaving her with the one choice. If you where about to get shot almost everyone would do the same.

message 66: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ I agree

message 67: by Allyson (new)

Allyson McBride | 16 comments Tris just reacted, she didn't have time to think about what she was doing. If anyone should be blamed, it should be Jeanine or Eric. Yes, Tris did pull the trigger, but they forced her into that situation. If Tris would have died then, countless people would have been killed. I can understand why Christina would be mad, but it wasn't Tris's fault.

message 68: by Eaman (new)

Eaman If she didn't kill Will, her and her mother would of been killed. It's what she had to do in her situation! Kind of upset me cause he always looked out for her especially in the book

message 69: by Edasenol (new)

Edasenol | 59 comments No, of course not. I think ıt was an instinc so... Cristina was being over-dramatical

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think Tris should be blamed because she was scared and in a life and death situation. Also Christina eventually got over it because she realized Tris was in this situation and didn't have much choice.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think that Tris should be blamed for shooting Will. She was scared and he was gonna kill her while he was under the simulation. I understand Christina's feelings but at least she got over it and that's really hard. But if Tris hasn't shot Will then her and her mother would have been shot. I think she just did it out of habit because she was scared and it was a matter of life and death.

message 72: by Mistery (new)

Mistery (mistery_wl) | 56 comments It wasn't an easy thing to do, he was one of her best friends, but it was her or him... and she was Divergent and him... he could get killed anyway for anybody else, so, they would end up both death (my opinion). But, don't get me wrong, I realy liked Will, more than Christina.

message 73: by Christina (new)

Christina | 13 comments No. She did the only thing she could do to survive. As mentioned in Divergent when tris' father was fighting with the guards, the simulation-controlled fighters will not stop even when they are wounded. Even if she shot him in his leg, he would continue fighting and eventually, he will get to kill her. Tris was confused, frustrated, tired, and injured. Also, people make mistakes. Thats one of the things I like the most about the divergent series. It is relatable. I find it understandable when tris shot will. She did what she had to do. She made a mistake. But don't we all make mistakes? Maybe she could have done something else but at the time, she had to think fast and her mental state was not at its best. She did regret her choice and had a pang of guilt for a really long time after that. With no doubt, she didn't want to kill will. She just had to.

message 74: by Paris (new)

Paris We could all see that Tris thought of Will as a great friend and person. After all, in dauntless initiation, Al, Will and Christina were all she had. They stuck up for her and were there for her to talk to.
Tris was in a very difficult position when she saw Will for that second before she shot him. As I see it, Tris would've been dead if she hasn't shot him. During that part in the story, it was either Tris who would go down, or Will.
It wasn't Tris's fault at all, she didn't want to do what she did. After she shot him, we could tell that she regretted it instantly and was shocked. She mourned his death with Christina and still thought about him days later.

message 75: by Mani (new)

Mani (prince7045) | 3 comments No because it was self defence plus he wasn't the Will she knew so she cannot be blamed. Plus he was brain washed. So tris should not be blamed

message 76: by Ghadeer (new)

Ghadeer | 3 comments I don't think she realized she shot will until he hit the ground, there was to much going on and she couldn't focused

message 77: by Paris (new)

Paris ^^ I agree. And lots of people have been saying that she should've shot his hand or something instead, and I think that would've been better too. But if you actually think about the situation she was in, Tris had not a second more to think about what she was doing before she pulled the trigger. I'm guessing her main thought was to stay alive and not thinking mainly about where to shoot someone. If she had wasted another second or two thinking about where to shoot Will, Will could've shot her first.

message 78: by Paris (new)

Paris Her first instinct was to shoot in a spot to kill and she had no time to think about anything else in this pressuring situation.

message 79: by Ghadeer (new)

Ghadeer | 3 comments ^ I agree and am sorry for her because in the end she lost her mom and friend in the same moment!

message 80: by Ally (new)

Ally | 24 comments No. It's either Will dies or her.

message 81: by Princess_22 (new)

Princess_22 | 25 comments yeah agree

message 82: by Fadwa (new)

Fadwa Marghany (fadwaezzat) I guess yes , she could shoot him in his arm or his leg

message 83: by Gwen (new)

Gwen (lemonadewho) | 23 comments no
she could have died

message 84: by Gwen (new)

Gwen (lemonadewho) | 23 comments NOOOO

message 85: by Misty (new)

Misty Matherly | 1 comments Yes and No. The way I see it Will was under the simulation so technically he wasn't fully aware of what he was doing. Just what he was ordered to do, which was to kill and Tris knew this. But also Tris was just saving herself in the situation either she got killed by Will or she would have to kill Will. It's a difficult decision to make as to whether she should be blamed or not

message 86: by Emma (new)

Emma I totally agree with misty. You can't really answer a question like this...it's extremely difficult.

message 87: by Manoushka (new)

Manoushka (lover_of_many_fandoms) | 27 comments She is to blame since she obviously killed him but in self defense.

message 88: by Canette (new)

Canette Arille (canettearillebooks) No, because he wanted to kill her. He was under of control, so ...

message 89: by Mahi (new)

Mahi | 5 comments Definitely not, I mean it was to kill, or to be killed and I personally would like to stay alive. I would’ve made the same choice.
