I tried listening to Archangels blade and hated the narration, then I tried Angels flight. I went back and read the books and enjoyed them. So I stopped buying this series in audio.
I've had the same issue with this narrator on other series, so when I see her name, I don't buy at audible

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I should start listening to samples before buying!

I can't stand that narrator.

BTW, I finished Maybe Not (Maybe, #1.5) by Colleen Hoover

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Oh, yeah. I tried to listen to a book narrated by her before and had to drop out of the "buddy read." (Of course, the book wasn't that great, either.) Luckily, it was a library download.

ShoSho, you should return the book for a credit. As long as you don't make a habit of it, Audible.com is pretty good about it.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 744 comments I finished audio of Beauty from Pain (Beauty, #1) by Georgia Cates , I don't know. I liked it but I'm so over these stories where guys hold all the cards in a sexual relationship and the chick goes along for the ride. I just reeks of desperation.

Highland Warrior (Campbell Trilogy, #1) by Monica McCarty is my new audio choice, I need some Scottish brogue in my life

message 662: by Silvia (new)

I am trying to decide if I read book 2 of that series (abandoning my other reading plans) or put it off until January.
Having a reading plan something sucks, but I must since I enter into so many challenges

message 687: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, challenges are a "Catch-22." They open you up to new books and authors; however, they make you tow the line to complete them.

I know, right?
That's why I am trying to come up with a new plan for next year. I am leaning towards challenges where I pick my own books myself...but I love those BINGO games too :(
I am such a sucker for challenges

ShoSho - that book looks good. I added it to my Amazon wish list! I'm currently reading How to Kill a Rock Star by Tiffanie DeBartolo How to Kill a Rock Star.

It's the 2nd book from Santa's picks that I've read. The first one was Easy (Contours of the Heart, #1) by Tammara Webber I really enjoyed it. I'm not disappointed in my Christmas book list at all. Santa is too smart for words! I must have been a good girl! LOL!

Sarah Maclean's series is a hit or miss. I didnt like book 1, but really liked book 2. Now I disliked book 3's heroine .

I think I'll try Christmas on Mimosa Lane by Anna DeStefano
