ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I'm reading Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter ,KarenF. It's very good so far (30%).

message 611: by Silvia (new)

Silvia I'm reading The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13) by Kim Harrison , love this series! This is the last book of this series! Sigh....

message 612: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm so tempted to start that series, Silvia. Obviously, you've been reading it awhile. So many people love it, especially after the first couple.

message 613: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Lisa Kay - I'm sad this series, The Hollows, is coming to an end (sob) but look forward to how everything turns out. It was fun while it lasted. Rachel is a witch and she goes on a lot of adventures with her 2 sidekicks, Jenks a pixie and Ivy a vampire. I can't recommend this series enough! ; )

message 614: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'll give it a try one day. I'm a bit worried it might be too dark for me. We'll see.

message 615: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments LOL! I did, too, Judy and just posted something in the "buddy read."

message 616: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 458 comments Excuse me while I butt into like every conversation going on. :)

Lisa Kay - I think you like Mercy Thompson? I don't think the Hollows is any darker than that really. But the world building is more confusing right off the bat. Rachel does take a lot longer to get her love life straightened out but she's younger than Mercy when the series starts so I cut her some slack.

I hope you're all liking Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan I really like that series and need to get back to it. It's definitely a different sort of paranormal.

I finished Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter . I'm sad that I didn't really enjoy it that much. I feel bad but GS's writing style has changed so much that I almost wish she'd just create a new world with new characters that work better for her beliefs now. This is the second one that I've tried to read since that change and I didn't really enjoy either of them.

I'm not sure what's next. I want to really like something so I'm thinking Rules For A Proper Governess (MacKenzies & McBrides, #7) by Jennifer Ashley or Darling Beast (Maiden Lane, #7) by Elizabeth Hoyt . Neither of them have really let me down yet.

I finished it this morning , there is one word to describe it : Mild!
The whole book was mild. There was not one wicked thing in it I don't know why it was called Wicked nights.

I liked the story and enjoyed reading it but it could have been much better if there wasn't so much about bad and good ,free will and right and wrong!

I'm going to read the next one although I've read reviews saying that one is even milder than this one, will you?

message 618: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Finished The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13) by Kim Harrison , The Hollows was a great series, this is the last book!

Going to finish Skin Game (The Dresden Files, #15) by Jim Butcher , latest book of the Dresden Files, another great series!

Tonight I'm starting Insidious (Tales from the Dark Side, #1) by Aleatha Romig , a dark read! Ooooh, this looks good. ; )

I really don't think so. I may try the next LotU one because I've waited for Torin's story forever. But I'm also afraid it may be more of the same. My Review of The Darkest Craving kind of sums up how I feel about it.

She does still write some good banter between the hero & heroine so that I did enjoy. But it's not enough with how I feel about the rest of it.

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments For me it started to go downhill from The Darkest Seduction . I'll read the next book in AoD series and Torin's book . I hope she goes back to her old style of writing.

It is a shame that her style has changed so drastically but I don't think she's going to revert back considering her current religious beliefs. We will either have to get used to it or find a different author :0(

I don't want her to change her beliefs, just her writing style to the chewing-your-nails-while-sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-sit excitement that the earlier book had ! But if she believes in something, she'd probably wants to preach it!
BTW I don't mind a clean romance I just don't like awkward sex scenes!

And now onto Hidden Away (KGI, #3) by Maya Banks

Ezi - How did you like UGLY LOVE???

And, that's funny, you're reading the same series I am, just a couple of books ahead!

message 647: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 744 comments Ummm, the writing in Ugly Love was 5star, the characters were a 2. I absolutely had no tolerance for the MCs. I hadn't felt this strong of an emotion in a while, but they really pissed me off.

I am reading KGI for a challenge--Finish What You Started, so I am trying to get as many of it read by the end of Nov. I am actually planning to read up to 7.

I like the Ghostwalker series by Christine Feehan
