Lee | 939 comments Lol. My cats are a little too curious when I take pictures of them and I have a few pictures like that.

Wet cats always look so sad and miserable. But have you ever seen a wet rabbit? They look evil. Just evil. I don't know how something normally so cute can turn so evil looking with just water. They must be gremlins.

Please don't kill me!

But I can not bring myself to read the book. I love the movie just as it is and I'm afraid reading the book may change my perception of the movie.

The risk of splatter on my precious books is too high! If you must release it, do it elsewhere, the library is no place for a kraken!

I'll have you know that the movie is very true to the book. It's widely known among us geeks that The Princess Bride is the best book to movie adaptation. I can't think of any other as good...

message 74: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I'll confirm that the movie is really almost a carbon copy of the book... there's just a few scenes that aren't represented in the movie, which... I think, add a lot of greatness to the book.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 1381 comments And the end....

message 76: by Dawn, Dawnerys, Mother of Modding (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 860 comments I'm one of the few who actually like the book better.. But I almost always do like books better than movie adaptations, so that's nothing new.

And how do I feel? Crappy! I've never had daylight savings affect me so much. I had a Pampered Chef brunch on Sunday (scheduled back in November so I had no idea it was on Spring forward day), so I had to wake up extra early already for it.. Then I was so tired after it that I had to take a nap.. Ended up being much too long of a nap. Couldn't sleep Sunday night, had Paramore (Still Into You) stuck in my head. Fell asleep at 3am and when 6am rolled around I couldn't wake up for work. Slept in till 9am and went in late. Then last night everything was still off.. Couldn't sleep until 12:30am, this time it was that stupid Pharrell Williams (Happy) song playing on repeat in my noggin. So now I'm super tired and grumpy.

So yeah. Not adjusting well! Here's to hoping I can actually remember how to fall asleep tonight. Stupid brain :P

message 77: by Nan (new)

Nan (felicityk) | 245 comments I enjoyed the movie a lot, but I prefer the book. I like all the asides and the style of the narration.

message 78: by Lee (new)

Lee | 939 comments I'm the oddball I guess. I love the movie. (Really really really love the movie). And I can't stand the book. It was painful for me to read. I didn't like all the fake history of the 'original' book. And I like how the movie simplified the idea more. Though, a lot of the dialogue is the same.

I believe the author of the book also wrote the screenplay... didn't he?

message 79: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Dawn, I know how you feel. Paramore has gotten many a song stuck in my head. Damn catchy jerks! :P

OMG. I feel exactly like this. I'm DRAGGING sooooo much. Ugh. And weird dreams.

And even exercising in the morning isn't giving me a big enough energy boost (probably because I'm exhausted but I still got my squats in, at least. :\ )

I think so.

I love both the movie and the book. They are entwined in my head. When I read the book, it's like I'm watching the movie. I even "hear" the narrator's voice as the grandpa.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 1381 comments As you wish....

I had the opposite thing this morning in a way. I mean I have no energy but I got up to go "relieve" myself and just stayed up.

It's kind of like virtual jet lag.

message 83: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes I have a four year old that isn't sleeping good. I'm still getting six hours of sleep in a night, but when it's in 1.5 hour chunks it sucks.

I thankfully have moved back to a place that believes Daylight Savings Time is the devil's work.

message 89: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes Canada is in a crisis, but thankfully we have This Hour has 22 Minutes to get us through the transition.

For those that don't know. Hockey Night in Canada is now owned by a private company and not the Canadian Broadcasting Comnpany (basically a poorly funded BBC for our United Kingdom members) and the usual hosts are being replaced.

George S. as HNIC.

Worth it for the Canada Reads and Margaret Atwood comments near the end.

How are you dealing with it?

message 91: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes I don't know. I didn't like Don Cherry much anymore, he had pretty much jumped the shark five years ago. A parody of himself. Ron was a decent announcer. I don't watch as much TV anymore, but hockey has sort of been the radio in the background for me.
