So definitely Chaol and Celeana as their relationship built up on similarities and trust, in a way.

Even in the presence of the overrated Rowan, I still love Chaol. I rooted for Chaol when Celaena turned out to be Aeline Galthynius. I rooted for Chaol when he shipped off..."
I 100% agree with you, like it's Chaol all the way

a mi particularmente siempre me gustó Chaol por que si bien Rowan es divino me parece demasiado para ser real, me consuelo atribuyendoselo a su naturaleza fae.

I agree with everything you just said

I thought he was so cool when he had ice powers but after that I thought he became a bit overpowered gaining most powers.
Though I feel like Chaol’s character was more developed than Dorian. And I honestly don’t know how I feel about Rowan.
ok i literally just started reading this book and im not joking if celaena and dorian don't end up together i WILL throw hands. from the comments, i see that chaol and celeana end up together, even though he's a complete ass as of where i am rn, but we'll see how i feel in the end

finally, someone who isn't team peeta. he's such a softie and it didn't go well with katniss at ALL. but yeah i totally agree i was sooo pissed when celaena rejected dorian like WHAT ARE YOU DOING GO GET HIM BACKKK

ok i know i said dorian but OH MY GOD I SWEAR ROWAN AND AELIN WILL BE PERFECT YESSSSS I SHIP ITTTTTTTTTT

I feel like Chaol and Celeana had such a good friendship. I honestly always saw Chaol as an overprotective, older brother.
Also, Chaol loved Celaena but he valued his duty and honour more than their relationship. He was always having that inner battle, and I feel like Dorian would have dropped everything for her in a heartbeat. And after all she'd been through, she deserved someone who would prioritise her. He valued her time, company, and treated her so freaking well! I think Dorian really saw her whereas Chaol just saw what he wanted to see (and blocked out anything he didn't really like). I don't mean to say that Chaol didn't also love spending time with her, and that he didn't help her heal from Endovier! I just think that he was only intrigued by certain parts of her.
Dorian loved her for who she was, and accepted every part of her. Her rage, violence, sorrow, her arrogance, her stubbornness. Her sass, her intelligence, her spirit, her independence, her confidence. He didn't balk when she did unspeakable things, he always had faith that there was a reason, and he knew a lot of it was an act. Chaol was always doubting her and wondering how he could have let himself care for her when she did such horrible things. I don't know about you, but to me, that isn't true love. I feel like when you truly love a person, it is near enough unconditional. But either way, it shows that he would never be the right person for her.
PLUS, when Celaena told Dorian that she wanted to stop things with him, yes he was hurt, but not once did he not have her back. He actually respected her decision and honoured it once she made it clear, although he loved her and was ready to put everything aside for her! AND he still loved her even when he grew out of that romantic love, he didn't stop loving the person she was. He was and will always be a safe space for her, and she for him. That's a lot more than you can say about Chaol. The way HE reacted when Celaena stopped stuff with him was APPALLING. How can you love someone so much and yet have such a disregard for her feelings. He literally called her a monster. Dorian wouldn't dare, that thought has never even crossed his mind. I've seen this said a few times before, but Chaol loved Elentiya, not her as a whole. He loved her strength, resilience, her fighting spirit (and just her fighting haha).
Also I feel like there was so much more chemistry with Dorian, Chaol just felt a little too boring for me. I never felt that spark with him, whereas I was always so excited for scenes with Dorian and Celaena. I feel like the dialogue was better, and he was a more interesting character.
Lastly, I did like how Chaol had his morals and values, how he was a good person with a big heart that he had trouble showing... but what happened to bros before hoes? He KNEW that Dorian and Celaena had something going on. He KNEW that Dorian cared for and even LOVED Celaena. He KNEW that Dorian still cared for her when she stopped things, and that he was hurting. Yet he hooks up with Celaena? For all his morals and values that was a really a dick move. I get that he couldn't help but fall in love with Celaena, but he could've at least had a chat with the guy that he sacrificed his title to protect, to the guy who has been his best friend since children, the guy who literally was the most important person in his life (whom he considered a brother) before running off with the girl that his same best friend loved.
To be honest, I like how she is friends with both of them, because their friendships are truly beautiful and special. And I don't think either guy was truly right for her.

I'll respond preferring Chaol. I actually preferred the scenes with him and I felt more chemistry between Caelena and Chaos, while seeing Dorian more like a friend and a brother, as you said for Chaol. I think it's simply about perspective and taste! I still love Chaol but I see why they were not supposed to end up together, even if OH MY GOD I was hurting as mush as she was, because I feel like they really loved each other. Anyway I'm now at Her of Fire so I don't know how things will move on and how the characters will change!
But I really like the points you made in the comment!

GIRL I've just started reading Heir Of Fire and I want to see so badly why everyone loves him omg

"I fell in love with a facet, and I panicked when I realized it was a fraction of the whole - when I saw that power, that heritage, and... it was not a part of my plans. - Chaol."
That's why.
Dorian is so (Insert every insulting word you can find)

but then team rowan
but if i had to choose between chaol and dorian? DEFINITELY dorian, chaol's name is practically pronounced like kale and he makes me think of lettuce lmao

Well guys, I have to say I chose Dorian... but 4 years later I married Chaol!! ;) And I regret nothing!

I'm gonna have to go with ROWANNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna have to go with ROWANNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
so true

I prefer Chaol over Dorian, but as I said, Chaol is like way too loyal to the King, it cost Nehemia her life. At first I wanted to see ..."
