Hi there everyone.

Well, I am looking around here in the TNBBC for a while. Quite a place! You guys are great. I'm joining in the Summer Challenge. But I am too late to start Woman in White, though I'd love to read this later. (After Summer Challenge, of course, because I'm now handful of this challenge!) So in general I'm still new.

Currently reading Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman Adventures of a Curious Character and Hot Six Stephanie Plum 6 for the challenge.

I love the Stephanie Plum novels. She is so real and quite hysterical. :)

Vickie | 9 comments I have been a lonely reader for a very long time. I have not found(nor looked) for people to share my love of reading til now. I did not realize how wonderful it would feel to read how other people love to read TOO!!! I always considered reading a solitary activity but now see discussing the books I read makes it SO much more enjoyable. I read all genres. I just finished the second Mortal Instrument series "City of Ashes" and just began JCO "My Sister, My Love". IF anyone has read this book please comment.

Madison Paine (madisonpaine) Nice to meet you, I am new to the group as well.

message 6: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) Hi Starcatcher and Madison, welcome to the group. I wouldn't say I was ever a lonely reader - books are company - but I enjoy books more in the company of other readers, especially on TNBBC.

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Petra, I loved high-fashion Barbie and this is great also...They are terrific!!!
Welcome Starcatcher, you will always have something to read (stacks of somethings!) and plenty to discuss!
Stephanie Plum is a much loved favorite of mine, grandma Mazur is laugh out loud crazy! Are you Joe or Ranger?? I am DEFINITELY Ranger!

Heather and Suzanne
I definitely love Grandma Mazur. She's one of a kind. I can see where Stephanie gets the gene from. Steph is sometimes boring. But Grandma never is . Ah, I haven't reached that Joe or Ranger yet but I can see what is coming up now.

Hi Vickie and Petra X
Reading is an activity to be done alone. I'm one person who is annoyed if there are people bothing me when I'm reading. But it's a different matter when it's about discussing the books. How so ? :)

Vickie, I haven't read these two books. Are they good so far ?

Madison wrote: "Nice to meet you, I am new to the group as well. "
Since March 08. But I'd been real quiet until recently.

I would love to but to be honest the Challenges scare me. I barely have enough time to read the group reads :) I think I'd have to quit my job in order to complete the Summer Challenge. Or stop sleeping.

message 11: by Eve (new)

Eve (eve_lyn) Hello! I've been "part" of the group for awhile but haven't joined in yet. Glad to be here. Hopefully, I'll be able to organize my time so I can participate fully.

Reading used to be such a solitary pursuit, until I joined a regular book club -but we've dwindled down to three. I looooove discussing books!

Currently reading Ulysses. Since I'm reading one chunk a month, I think this will be true for at least a year. Reading other books, as well. Ones that actually have a plot. I have to say - right now I'm reading this monster just to say that I've done so and because I'm an English Lit major and I suppose I should.

message 12: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (sianin) Hi there:

I have been a part of the group for a couple of weeks although I haven't managed to get my hands on the current read and the July read doesn't appeal to me, I do look forward to future reads. Some of the past ones are books I ahve really enjoyed and I look forward to the discussions.

My background is anthropologist, mom, mountaineer and wife. (Not the big ones but real mountains none-the-less.) Oh and I am from Canada.

Micheal Hi, I'm Micheal and I read books..... It's been about 9 hours since my last book and I'm looking to make a full recovery. ***Hi Micheal, says the room full of other book addicts***

message 14: by Moody (new)

Moody Claire (singurl) | 88 comments I've found this and opened it and I was glad to have found out that I wasn't the only one late for summer challenge 2009 but I feel bad because we have financial problems now but tonight I'll finish the last chapters of Harry Potter book7 so that I can catch up with the challenge though I'm not sure if my dad will agree with buying a new book since I've just bought this book a week ago.

If I won't be able to get the books then I'll just have to stick with my own author alphabet challenge.

Anything for the fun of reading!

Good choice. I loved this book. Feynman was a real marvel, wasn't he?
