I was trying to figure out the name of a book I read probably between 1997-2001 maybe later, all I can remember is there was a female vampire who had a friend I believe was a detective, that she helped and healed with her blood at some point in the book. I think it may have been a series.

Was she an ex-cop (or he?) and now working as a PI? Because eyesight got bad, and disqualified (one of them) from the police force.

Kevin, (view spoiler)[in the second to last Vicki Nelson book, she is seriously hurt and almost dies. Henry turns her into a vampire to save her. In the last book, she's back with her ex-partner when she was in the police department. There are also a couple of short stories that Huff wrote dealing with what happens afterwards for Vicki (hide spoiler)]

Okay this is a long shot since it was published in 2007, but what about Lover Revealed?
He was a detective, she's a female vamp

To me it sounds like Anno Dracula too. Genevieve Dieudonne is a vampire and she helps Beauregard, a London policeman, to investigate a serial murder on vampires. Genevieve heals him with her blood at one point in the first book.

How about the "Last Vampire" series by Christopher Pike? The second book, Black Blood (published 1994)is about a female vampire who meets and eventually vampirizes a detective to save his life.
