I'm rather shamefaced to say that I've only just finished my first book for the challenge, but it was a great one - Eyrie by Tim Winton. It's a wonderful snapshot of Australia in 2013, its good points and bad, and once more had flawed characters with great depth, and an ending that left me gasping. It's my new favourite Tim Winton book, and since he's my favourite Aussie author, that's saying a lot!Review coming soon!

Great that you enjoyed it Sally. I have this one on my TBR and am about #65 in the queue at the library! I'll check out your review when you get it done:)

I've finished my second book, After the Fall which was an interesting read of two married couples torn apart by an affair. Now reading Jilted by Rachael Johns, not sure if I put this on my challenge, but looking forward to it!

Yes, but I didnt list it as part of my bronze challenge. Maybe I'll add it as part of the silver challenge - I'm sure I'll read enough books to qualify for that one!

Just add it in, e.g. edit your original post and add it, and then keep a tally on the total now and then through the year, you might be surprised how easily you get to 24:)

I forgot when I listed my books for this challenge that I was intending to read The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough so I didn't include it at the time. But I've just finished it (and loved it!!) and am including it in the Australian Classic section, taking my intended total up to 16 (creeping closer and closer toward the Silver level!!) and making my current total books read up to 4.I think I'd better start on one of my other yearly challenges soon and give this one a rest for a while!

I suppose it would be cheating if I added all the children's books I've been reading with my girls wouldn't it? They're both doing the Premier's Reading Challenge so we're reading lots of books from Australian authors. Maybe I can keep a separate list?...

A separate list would be a great idea Belinda:) So, an adults and a children's challenge:)

Haven't started this challenge yet but have decided to change my two female authors and will now be reading Wolfsangel
and The Tailor's Girl

..."Ah, the best laid plans...! So far, I haven't actually made any substitutions, I've just added in extras while still intending to read my original choices, but I'm not sure whether I'll have enough time in the end to read my original ones...
Anyway, here's another couple of additions for my list - I suggested my library purchase Streets on a Map: Journey Through Changes by our own Dale Harcombe and I received a notification that it is waiting patiently for me at the library! So I will add that as one of my female authors. And I just downloaded Burial Rites by Hannah Kent as an audiobook so will add that as one of my debut novels.
I finished one of my classics this evening, Seven Little Australians by Ethel Turner - 3 stars.

Glad your library got it in for you Kathryn. It is one way each of us can help our Aussie authors. If we can't afford to buy the book we can always ask our library to get it in. I have done that for other Aussie authors in the past.
Dale wrote: "Kathryn wrote: "Elaine wrote: "Haven't started this challenge yet but have decided to change my two female authors and will now be reading Wolfsangel
...."I actually ordered Streets on a Map: Journey Through Changes at both of my local libraries! I forgot I'd requested it at the one where it has come in when I put in a request at the other one! And I can see the second one (where I've now cancelled my reservation) has ordered 3 copies for 3 of its branches! So I'm getting the word out there (even if partly inadvertently!) :-)
I finished The Green Mill Murder by Kerry Greenwood this morning. I really enjoy listening to the Phryne Fisher mysteries narrated by Stephanie Daniels - adds an extra element to the experience! So this is my updated list, since I've added a few extras in since starting this challenge!
